MAIORA 42 EXUMA PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES OF CONTEMPORARY YACHT DESIGN
One year after its official debut, the first Maiora 42 Exuma has entered the outfitting stage, marking another key milestone in the construction of Maiora’s latest flagship. Now at Next Yacht Group’s production facility in Viareggio, Italy, the project is steadily progressing from concept to reality, bringing with it a fresh perspective on contemporary yacht design.

Rather than adhering to the conventional layout found aboard many superyachts, the 42.5-metre Maiora 42 Exuma has been designed around the owner’s experience. Every deck and living space has been carefully considered to encourage a more natural connection with the sea, creating fluid transitions between interior and exterior areas while prioritising comfort, wellbeing and social interaction.
The yacht reflects a collaborative vision between Maiora, renowned yacht designer Giorgio Maria Cassetta and Elie Saab Maison, which makes its superyacht debut with the project. The interiors combine refined residential styling with bespoke furnishings and selected pieces from the Elie Saab Maison collection, complemented by an extensive palette of premium Italian materials, including handcrafted marbles and custom finishes. Future owners will also have the opportunity to personalise their yachts through the same design partnership.

With the hull and superstructure now united, the yacht has moved to Viareggio for the next phase of outfitting. While built using advanced composite construction methods, the Maiora 42 Exuma distinguishes itself through a series of innovative architectural solutions that redefine the way onboard spaces are experienced.
At the heart of this approach is the Infinity Upper Deck, conceived as a seamless living environment rather than a traditional upper deck. Its sheltered open bow creates an expansive outdoor lounge where guests can relax in comfort while enjoying uninterrupted views. This area flows effortlessly into an indoor-outdoor saloon, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glazing that opens on all four sides, creating a continuous connection between the yacht’s interiors and the surrounding seascape. The first hull also introduces an enlarged hardtop-covered section forward, further enhancing shade, versatility and guest comfort.

As construction advances, the Maiora 42 Exuma continues to embody the brand’s vision of a yacht centred on the people who experience it. By challenging traditional design conventions and prioritising the quality of life on board, it represents a new chapter in contemporary superyacht living.
