AZIMUT PRESENTS THE MAGELLANO 27M
The third generation of the Magellano Series unfolds with exteriors by Jarkko Jämsén and interiors by AMDL CIRCLE & Michele De Lucchi, introducing an unprecedented architectural loggia overlooking the sea.
The Magellano 27M opens the third chapter of an evolutionary story that began in the early 2000s with the vision of Paolo and Giovanna Vitelli. They pioneered an entirely new category the crossover of the seas introducing an approach to yachting that transformed both the cruising experience and yacht design.

As a true crossover, the Magellano 27M offers the freedom to cruise without compromise, combining generous volumes conceived for long voyages with elegant, timeless lines. At the heart of the experience is a Dual Mode hull, engineered to deliver superior comfort across a wide range of sea conditions and speeds.
Defined by its vertical bow and double chine, this high-efficiency hybrid hull combines the strengths of displacement and planing designs, helping to reduce fuel consumption while softening wave impact. It is an innovation conceived neither to chase speed nor settle for slowness but to allow owners to navigate at their own pace, with the confidence and freedom to set sail even when challenging conditions keep others ashore.
Inaugurated with the Magellano 27M, the Series’ third generation brings this philosophy to a new level, where the long-range capabilities of the crossover meet an intimate and soulful approach to interior architecture.
The unprecedented creative dialogue uniting Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén with AMDL CIRCLE, Michele De Lucchi and Davide Angeli reflects the yacht’s independent and versatile character.

Jämsén’s multifaceted experience spanning iconic superyachts, advanced sail design and industrial craft gives the exterior a bold sculptural presence. Inside, this pure architecture takes on an unmistakably Italian accent, guided by De Lucchi’s decision to place the warmth and materiality of wood at the centre of the design narrative.
At its heart is the loggia, a Mediterranean-inspired sanctuary that blurs the boundary between interior and exterior, creating an environment where onboard life naturally slows during long passages and quiet anchorages.
Conceived for discerning seafarers and aesthetes drawn to the rare rather than the ordinary, the Magellano 27M embodies a distinctive idea of freedom. Its confident individuality is expressed through a superyacht whose character is unique, timeless and deeply rooted in beauty.
The bare shape: when nature designs the exterior designer Jarkko Jämsén developed the concept around a radical idea: the Magellano 27M is conceived as a living, site-specific artwork, designed not to dominate nature but to exist in constant dialogue with it.

By stripping away the unnecessary and revealing what Jämsén calls “the bare shape,” the yacht becomes a reflective canvas upon which sea, sky and light continually reshape its surfaces.
Jämsén’s architecture moves between engineering precision and fluidity. This duality is expressed through “the loop,” an industrial line tracing the yacht’s profile. On one side lies precision engineering: sharp corners, technical fillets and carefully calibrated proportions convey accuracy and structural discipline. On the other, pure sculptural surfaces capture and reflect natural light, multiplying the interplay of sea and sky.
At the stern, wooden louvers a signature aesthetic element of the Magellano Series introduce warmth while filtering sunlight into changing patterns of light and shade.
The tension between engineered clarity and sculptural softness gives the Magellano 27M its distinctive identity: instantly recognisable and rigorously engineered yet alive with natural beauty.

The loggia on the sea: a voyage within two kindred design philosophies shared the same instinct long before meeting at sea.
A decade ago, AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi created Azimut’s onshore architectural identity around the concept of “a warm and natural seaside feeling.” Wooden brise-soleil became a recurring feature across the brand’s venues and international showcases.
Today, that relationship between wood and sunlight finds a new expression aboard the Magellano 27M through its unprecedented loggia overlooking the sea, subtly echoing the yacht’s signature aft louvers.

Designed by AMDL CIRCLE & Michele De Lucchi, the interiors are rooted in a fundamental human instinct: throughout history, people have crossed lands and seas to discover, connect and shape their future. The Magellano 27M celebrates this impulse by transforming the journey itself into a place of meaning, identity and discovery.
At the heart of the project is the Main Deck, conceived as an expansive loggia over the sea. Generously glazed and immersed in natural light, the space is articulated by wooden architectural elements inspired by Mediterranean pergolas and patios.
The result is an environment suspended between inside and out, where the surrounding landscape becomes part of everyday life. Rather than dividing spaces, the architecture filters, accompanies and protects, maintaining a continuous relationship with nature.
The interiors are perceived not as a sequence of separate rooms but as a single fluid environment, allowing the eye to move uninterruptedly while keeping the sea constantly present.

This approach embodies Azimut’s Integral Design ethos, in which designers are entrusted with every detail to shape the interior as one cohesive architectural organism.
Of wood and light, Wood is the defining material of the Magellano 27M’s interior architecture.
AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi embrace a mono-material narrative, allowing wood to become the protagonist through a sophisticated variety of textures and treatments striped, engraved, flamed and sculpted to create visual and tactile depth.
In the Main Deck saloon and Owner’s Suite, light oak is complemented by walnut detailing, with a refined three-dimensional motif marking the transition between the two woods.
De Lucchi’s longstanding connection with ancient Japanese craftsmanship introduces another layer of refinement. Tactile three-dimensional wooden surfaces are paired with side tables hand-chiselled using the traditional Naguri technique.

Above the headboard, the wall itself becomes a work of art, wrapped in precious HOSOO fabric, hand-woven on 300-year-old looms in Kyoto. Its delicate pattern represents a microscopic enlargement of the cross-section of a tree trunk, returning the interior narrative to the very essence of wood.
Metal and wooden details complete the composition, bringing together natural materiality and contemporary precision in an atmosphere of elegance, depth and warmth. The result resonates with Jämsén’s exterior vision, where solidity gives way to movement and rigour flows naturally into grace.
Natural light is treated as an architectural material in its own right. Entering with the intensity characteristic of life on the open sea, it is softened and warmed by the extensive use of light wood across walls, ceilings and furnishings.
Statement lighting pieces by Produzione Privata the design studio founded by Michele De Lucchi in 1990 to champion experimentation and artisanal excellence further develop this dialogue. Creations including the Jona and Metafisica lamps, alongside iconic Artemide designs, transform artificial light into an architectural element rather than a decorative addition.

The freedom to cruise further: an advanced Dual Mode hull just as the onboard environment shapes the experience of life at sea, engineering defines the ability to extend it.
Beneath the sculptural purity of the Magellano 27M lies a technological foundation conceived to take owners further, in greater comfort and with complete confidence.
Long-range cruising in safety and comfort has been fundamental to the Magellano philosophy since its inception, and the Magellano 27M advances this principle through sophisticated naval architecture and systems engineering.
At its foundation is an exceptional hull designed to soften wave impact by navigating through waves rather than simply riding over them. Smooth and comfortable behaviour in a seaway has been a hallmark of the Magellano Series since the first model was launched in 2009, and the Magellano 27M further develops this characteristic.

The Dual Mode hull, developed by the Azimut|Benetti Group R&D Department in collaboration with P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture, features a double-chine configuration with a vertical bow.
The vertical bow increases waterline length and facilitates smoother entry into waves, while a central skeg enhances directional stability across varying sea conditions. The double chine helps reduce spray in heavy seas and acts as a natural shock absorber by distributing impact across two steps.
This configuration allows cruising speed to be adapted to prevailing sea conditions, reducing stress on the hull while increasing navigational freedom. The hull geometry also optimises fuel consumption at both displacement and higher cruising speeds.
Powered by twin MAN V12 1,650 hp engines, the Magellano 27M delivers remarkable versatility. It is designed to cruise comfortably and efficiently at the speeds most commonly used during navigation between 16 and 18 knots while retaining the capability to exceed 24 knots when required.
For longer passages and extended off-grid cruising, the yacht offers a range of approximately 1,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

The rise of silent technology approximately 30% of the Magellano 27M’s surfaces are constructed using carbon fibre, helping to reduce overall weight while enhancing efficiency, fuel consumption and dynamic performance.
Azimut Silent Technology is the brand’s innovation programme dedicated to creating an increasingly quiet and sustainable onboard experience.
At the forefront of the programme is Azimut’s in-house Applied Technology Laboratory, where researchers and designers transform technological research into practical, scalable solutions across different segments of the Azimut fleet.

Through this development programme, Azimut addresses noise, vibration and emissions with dedicated technical solutions, including elastic engine and generator mountings, specialised silencers and particulate filters. Together, these technologies create a calmer and more refined onboard environment, particularly valuable during extended periods at sea.
An optional Zero Emission Hotel Mode, powered by LFP lithium-iron-phosphate batteries, allows guests to spend part of the day or even an entire night at anchor in comfort and silence without running the generators, eliminating generator-related noise, vibration and local emissions during stationary operation.

Complex technology ultimately serves a simple purpose: making life aboard more enjoyable.
In 2009, during the original Magellano Voyage a winter crossing of more than 2,000 nautical miles across the Mediterranean celebrated yachtsman and journalist Dag Pike observed that the yacht “sits solidly into the sea,” capturing the confidence and sense of control that defined the Magellano experience from its beginnings.

That observation remains one of the clearest expressions of the Magellano spirit today.
The Magellano 27M sits solidly in the water for long passages and just as firmly against the passage of time and changing trends pursuing a timeless ambition at the heart of the Series the freedom to cruise across the open sea.
