Van der Valk unveils new Continental Five range

Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has revealed an impressive concept for a new 38-metre explorer yacht. The Continental Five range has been developed in partnership with Guido de Groot in a variety of exterior designs, ranging from futuristic to classic.

Despite the wide range of choices available in terms of her exterior profile lines, the overall design of the Continental Five has a distinctly masculine character. Sporting a round-bilge hull, owners can opt for a full displacement version with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure or an all-aluminium fast-displacement vessel.

It is specifically designed with a significant fuel capacity, and will be easily capable of transatlantic passages. A powerful propulsion package includes twin CAT C18 ACERT diesel engines.

The triple-deck configuration offers serious interior and exterior space, and provides many different layout possibilities. The interior will be characterised by an extraordinary level of comfort and finishing.

“The yard is easy to communicate with and highly professional. We have designed a number of completely new models and three yachts have already been successfully delivered. The Continental Five is the largest design to be unveiled to date and we are especially proud of the flexible layout possibilities of this 38-metre yacht.”

The main deck aft accommodates the toys and tender or a helipad or swimming pool. The spacious main saloon has floor-to-ceiling doors to starboard and port that allow broad views all around. The forward location of the master suite also affords some stunning vistas.
