TAG Heuer and Zenith join forces to create LVMH School partnership with LVMH Institut des Métiers d’Excellence
La Chaux-de-Fonds Transmission of expertise, encouraging learning, promoting equal opportunities. LVMH highlights and sustains traditional crafts via the apprenticeship training programs offered by its companies. This will not include the discipline of watchmaking.
Following the ceremony to mark the start of a new year at the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence in Paris on 18th October, which saw the first official promotion of the LVMH School of Watchmaking, TAG Heuer and Zenith will today open the new School.
Under the leadership of Jean-Claude Biver, President of the LVMH Group Watch Division, and Chantal Gaemperle, Director of Human Resources and Synergies and a member of LVMH Group executive committee, The LVMH School of Watchmaking has launched an original training concept combining:
– Learning with input from two manufactures with different products, cultures, size and DNA.
– Access and exposure to other watch brands and disciplines within the Group, thanks to masterclasses organised within the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence.
– Teaching and certification within the official learning structure of CIFOM, a recognised training institution based in the nearby city of Le Locle.
Working in the TAG Heuer Manufacture workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds, this year’s 12 watchmaking apprentices will benefit from an expanded programme featuring additional training courses coordinated by their two training partners: the watchmaking heritage and traditional crafts of Zenith; and the innovative, avant garde spirit of TAG Heuer.
TAG Heuer, Zenith and the LVMH Institut des Métiers d’Excellence have organised a tour of the School, with a presentation of this unique concept officially marking the inauguration of this new school and its young apprentices.
