Regent Porto Montenegro Presents ‘ MURANO” Restaurant
Regent Porto Montenegro, standing elegantly at the heart of Porto Montenegro, the glittering marina and glamorous superyacht home port, has announced the re-brand of its signature restaurant The Dining Room – to Murano. With a menu, wine list and ambience inspired by Montenegrin culture and cuisine, the new restaurant will set a more casual approach to dining and is set to become the place to go for stylish, yet simple dishes.
The Restaurant
The restaurant’s warm, inviting and relaxed atmosphere is deftly enhanced by the stunning new interiors. Shades of blue in the wallpaper, warm red in the artwork, bold bright chandeliers and midnight blue chairs add fresh pops of colour to the room.
The colour palette and the classical terrace are inspired by the Venetian heritage of Boka Bay, with blue remaining a signature colour throughout. From the Venetian craftmanship and glassware on the island of Murano – the inspiration behind the restaurant’s name – to the blue waters of the Adriatic and the luxury marina of Porto Montenegro – the design remains true to the destination, with a luxury twist.
Don’t miss Murano’s bold new artwork – spot the three bold and colourful ‘Faces’ by Svetlana Ostapovici. The works are inspired by the artist’s visit to Pompeii, created with a mixed media technique, using coloured pieces of Murano glass to create a mosaic. Well-known in the area, her work can also be found at the Murano Art Gallery in Porto Montenegro and at Murano Art Glass, in Macao.
Another exhibit from Murano Art Gallery, is one of the biggest vases in the world, handmade from one piece of Murano glass, by Renzo Vianello. This statement piece stands 51cm tall and 65cm wide and is finished with battuto – a treatment using a grinding wheel to mark a specific pattern onto the surface of the glass.
“The new name has somewhat imposed itself upon us,” says Kai Dieckmann, General Manager at Regent Porto Montenegro. “We didn’t need to spend a long time searching for a suitable name as inspiration was all around us. This is a foodie haven and its standards of excellence, paired with distinct and timeless creativity, has many parallels to the Murano Island and its famous craftsmanship in glassware. The restaurant is in the Venezia Wing just steps from Porto Montenegro’s Venetian Square – so the name ‘Murano’ was the perfect final piece of the puzzle.”
The Food
The new menu has been lovingly crafted by Murano’s dream team: Food & Beverage Manager, Zeljko Knezovic; Executive Sous Chef, Filip Akrap and Chef De Cuisine, Marko Zivkovic – with a real focus on Adriatic cuisine.
The menu will offer traditional and contemporary dishes using the freshest seafood, caught right on the hotel’s doorstep, alongside locally sourced, seasonal ingredients – each offering distinctive features and characteristics of local dishes.
Murano is an all-day restaurant – tempting appetizers sit alongside tasty soups, refreshing pasta, entrées and flame-grilled dishes. This is a stylish and delicious spot for anything from a shady lunch away from the summer heat, to a romantic dinner under the stars.
Zeljko Knezovic, says, “We are extremely proud of our new menu. As well as offering the freshest seafood, meat lovers will not be disappointed, with a careful selection of light dishes such as tender veal, duck or lamb. With the best of famous and local Montenegrin wines, along with crus and grand crus, it is an amazing setting.”
“We are thrilled for guests to experience the new Murano restaurant, welcoming a more casual approach to dining, whilst continuing to provide excellence service, atmosphere and food for our guests” says Jovana Spaic, Restaurant Manager of Murano.
Known for her distinctive energy and warm welcome, Restaurant Manager Jovana Spaic is one hand to offer her recommendations and pair wines to specific dishes impeccably. As well as local wine, Murano’s bar staff can mix, stir and shake a range of creative cocktails to suit each guest’s taste.
