Porto Montenegro Receives Two New Certifications

The exclusive luxury yacht homeport and marina village, Porto Montenegro, announced two new certifications: Environmental Management ISO 14001 as well as ISO 9001 for Quality Management.

Porto Montenegro (operated by Adriatic Marinas Services) is committed to protecting the environment and the territory in which operates, in particular by implementing targeted actions on pollution prevention and the continual improvement of its environmental protection. To reinforce this position, the company has decided to introduce the international standard UNI EN ISO 14001.

The marina’s environmental policy involves the following:
•    continuous improvements to environmental performance by preventing all forms of pollution
•    accordance with applicable legal requirements and other requirements subscribed in relation to environmental aspects
•    monitoring water within the marina on a daily basis to prevent and contain any pollution
•    adopting emergency procedures and advanced techniques to limit environmental pollution caused by accidental oil spills in the water
•    optimizing the collection and management of waste, supporting initiatives that reduce waste sent for disposal as well as recovery / recycling of the same
•    promotion of initiatives to enlarge the cultural heritage and local environmental perspective of sustainable development of the district in which it operates
•    staff training on the principles of environmental protection legislation and internal procedures
•    informing and raising awareness among users, third parties operating on the site and suppliers to act in an environmentally safe manner and in compliance with environmental policy. The company is committed to publicly disclosing its environmental policy and explaining it to anyone working for or on site.
