Palumbo SuperYacht Refit Yards
Palumbo Super Yachts facility in Malta has welcomed “Serene” to it’s docks this week, together with her many crew members. Built by Fincantieri and launched in 2011, 134m “Serene” was the largest yacht to be built in Italy at the time of her launch, but is a comfortable size for Palumbo who are accustomed to working on some of the world’s largest ships and cruise liners.
Palumbo Super Yachts of Malta has become one of the Mediterraneans most important service destinations, with yachts of all sizes drawn to her strategic location and extensive range of services. With a 160m long graving dock and a 140m covered dock the Malta facility is well equipped to handle just about any super yacht, and if the vessel is too big even for the graving dock then she can tie up to the 400m of quay for alongside repair work afloat.
The numerous crew of “Serene” will also no doubt benefit from knowing that Palumbo Super Yachts in Malta have an on-site gym, a games room, and a TV room – and for those who will take the opportunity of a break to fly home to visit family they will be pleased to discover that it is just a short drive to Malta airport, where there are direct flights to most of the major cities in Europe.
As the summer season draws to a close and Captains make plans for winter works Palumbo are experiencing an increase in activity not just in Malta, but also in their facilities in Marseille and Naples. “Serene” is just one of many super yachts that have confirmed booking in to the extensive network of refit and service centres that Palumbo have throughout the Med, and the Palumbo team are gearing up for a busy and successful season ahead.
