NEW FULLY CUSTOM 45M TANKOA SUPERYACHT TX450 LAUNCHED IN GENOA
Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has reached a significant construction milestone with the launch of the 45-metre TX450 at its Genoa shipyard.
The yacht’s owner, his family and representatives joined Tankoa’s management and workforce, alongside the partner companies involved in the project, to celebrate the occasion. The ceremony included the traditional blessing of the yacht and christening by her godmother, followed by a private celebration at the shipyard.
An experienced yachtsman from the Middle East, the owner approached the project with a clear vision. His brief called for a yacht below 500 GT that would deliver the generous volume, expansive living areas and efficient space distribution typically associated with a much larger vessel.
The project was developed in close collaboration between the owner and Cassetta Yacht Designers which created both the exterior and interior design. The resulting yacht reflects the owner’s lifestyle, intended use and individual requirements.
Naval architecture was developed by Italian marine design firm Names while engineering was completed by inNave in cooperation with Tankoa’s technical department.
Although the TX450 draws on the Tankoa T450 platform, the project has evolved into an entirely new, fully custom yacht. Aside from sharing the same design studio as her predecessor, the TX450 has been extensively reimagined to meet the owner’s bespoke brief.
Designed around how the owner intends to experience life on board, the yacht features a distinctive configuration with an additional deck and a wider beam than her predecessor. The entire upper deck is dedicated to living spaces, while the main deck accommodates the owner’s suite and guest cabins.
The TX450 can host up to 10 guests across five staterooms. Additional amenities include a dedicated gym and spa, further guest accommodation on the lower deck including a convertible cabin and an enclosed veranda on the bridge deck.
These features make the TX450 a highly individual yacht and a clear expression of Tankoa’s boutique approach to yachtbuilding.
The yacht is equipped with a full hybrid propulsion system that combines conventional engines with electric motors and battery power. She is expected to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots at half load and cruise comfortably at 14 knots.
The hybrid system provides enhanced operational flexibility, safety and redundancy while enabling zero-emission operation in full-electric mode. It also allows the yacht to remain at anchor overnight using battery power alone and to cruise fully electrically for several hours.

The TX450 has now entered the final stage of construction. Sea trials and technical testing are underway ahead of delivery to her owner.
