MISHI 102 PROJECT UNVEILED AS A NEW GENERATION OF FAMILY SAILING SUPERYACHT AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW 2024

Luxury sailboat builder Mishi Yachts has unveiled details of its stunning 31-metre cruising sloop project at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Not only have detailed specifications of the Mishi 102 project been published, but there is a whole gallery of interior and exterior renderings to bring the yacht to life.

There has been great interest in the Mishi 102 since the shipyard outlined its latest model earlier this year. Development work has intensified between the yard and its design team, comprising Taka Yacht Design for the naval architecture and Atilla Eren for the interior. With the boat’s superyacht size and spec, plus the fact she is for sale exclusively through Ocean Independence, Monaco was the natural place to reveal more.

Unmistakable lines

The Mishi 102 is built on the same DNA as the successful Mishi 88, so the family resemblance of the larger yacht is undeniable. Elegant lines, a spacious deck house and carefully thought-out safety features are immediately evident. Measuring 7.30m at the beam and 31m overall, the boat’s high topsides guarantee plenty of interior space, but without sacrificing those all important proportions.

Outdoor living

As with all Mishi Yachts, huge emphasis has been placed on the size and comfort of the cockpit. It offers an incredible entertaining space with full dining and lounging possibilities for 12 – all in the shade of an sleek carbon-fibre hard top. Extendable tables can be raised for eating or lowered for coffee, and offer a gleaming stainless-steel handrail to steady you when heeling. Glass windows, open sides and skylights overhead make this a room with a fantastic view.

Leather detailing, fine fabrics and noble woods create a luxurious harmony. Eren has selected a refined black-and-white pattern for the upholstery, while the cylindrical armrests are held in place with smart red strapping. The fabric is naturally weatherproof, and can also be easily removed and stowed when needed. All the sailing functions of the boat are concentrated outside the cockpit at the ergonomic helm stations.

Deck space is plentiful, with a huge expanse of beautiful teak decking aft of the helms. Clear of the hardtop, this area lends itself well to sitting, lounging and entertaining. You can also store toys or a tender there, although there is a large garage in the transom which can take a boat up to around 4m.

The transom itself lowers to provide a very spacious swim platform, accessed down hidden steps. And the Mishi 102 also has an enchanting forward cockpit built into the coachroof, which gives protection and a sense of security on either side. Sunpads, seating and low tables make this the ideal spot to watch the sun go down with a drink in hand.

Contemporary interior

The same careful use of space and exquisite finish appears below deck on the Mishi 102. Social space is focused on the large saloon at the bottom of the wide companionway, which uses the boat’s full 7.30m beam. There are deep, comfy built-in sofas on either side, with coffee tables and loose pouffe seating. On the starboard side is a very well-equipped navigation station and chart table, which also doubles as a desk.

Mishi shows its pedigree here, with beautiful proportions and a contemporary, curved finish to cabinetry that makes much of light-coloured veneers and textured finish. What’s more, the galley can be half open to the saloon, allowing the owners to cook with family and offering excellent communications for service. Mishi can also close up this space for privacy, if preferred. Either way, top quality appliances and an induction cooktop make it a pleasure to use.

Accommodation runs to three guest cabins – two positioned aft of the saloon, and one opposite the galley on starboard. The aft cabins are flexible, and can be configured as doubles or as twins by sliding the beds together. They are naturally ensuite, with comfortable heads and large separate showers. The midship’s cabin is also ensuite but offers bunks that would be ideal for children.

The owner’s cabin is positioned forward for the greatest privacy and the best light. It has a true king-size bed, heaps of storage and a convenient vanity table. The styling here resembles a, with light pouring in through the two hull windows. The ensuite heads boast a simply vast shower.

Although Mishi Yachts and interior designer Atilla Eren have done a superb job of imagining a contemporary interior for this boat, with deep curves and a muted palette, owners can of course bring their own designer to the table. Some alternative configurations have already been worked out, including one that puts the galley forward and pulls the owner’s cabin back amidships, and another that transforms the midship’s guest cabin into a lounge area.

Builders of distinction

Although Mishi Yachts is a young brand, it has been set up by a shipyard that draws on decades of experience and a global fleet: Yonca Shipyard has been building fast, composite boats for law enforcement and tactical work since 1986 with facilities that include 22,000 square metres of covered build space in Tuzla, Turkey. So the Mishi 102’s glass and carbon composite sandwich hull will be in exceedingly capable hands when the project reaches the build stage.

The decks are built in a composite sandwich with a Divinycell core and carbon epoxy skins on the top. Burma teak will be laid on this for the most attractive finish. What’s more, the whole yacht is being produced with class certification including hull and machinery and unrestricted navigation in a sign of quality.

Power comes from a standard diesel engine, which can propel the boat at up to 12 knots. Cruising speed under power is an impressive 10 knots, which equates to a range of 1,000 nautical miles using the 4,000-litre fuel capacity. The yacht will displace 104.5 tonnes at half load, and it offers an interior volume of 95 gross tons.

“We were delighted to unveil details of our flagship, the incomparable Mishi 102, at the Monaco Yacht Show,” said Mishi Yachts Chairman Şakir Yılmaztürk. “I believe that the yacht represents something really new in the market: a unique proposition for a large, comfortable sailing cruiser. And if the reaction we have had in recent weeks is anything to go by, I’d say the market agrees!”
