Amico & Co, leader in Europe and amongst the top global companies in the
superyacht refit and repair sector, presents the conclusion of development works of the new Waterfront Marina, a centre devoted to hosting superyachts, their crews, Owners and both yacht and charter managers, in the heart of Genoa.
“Thanks to this new, high-tech infrastructure with high quality standards and a series of complementary services for crews, managers and Owners, we wanted to further enhance what we can offer and confirm the leadership of Genoa and its territory at an international level.” – declared Alberto Amico, Chairman of
Amico & Co..
Waterfront Marina develops over a stretch of water spanning 43,000 square metres, with two quays with a complex length of 460m and a completely newly-built 70m structural pontoon. The marina can host 26 vessels up to 110m LOA, guaranteeing the highest quality service and environmental standards: a 4-Megawatt electrical system that can power shore columns of up to 1000 Ampère, Wi-Fi cabled internet
connection as well as water supply and black and grey water collection and disposal systems at every berth.
The on-land area spanning over 15,000 square metres offers all kinds of services and amenities, from the lounge and meeting area to kitchens, restrooms and a laundry, changing rooms, yoga studio, fully equipped gym and offices. The external area is completed by a fitness zone with three courts for tennis/5-a-side football, paddle and basketball/multi sports, a barbecue zone and a car park with over 100 spaces, of which 13 for electric vehicles.
Created by Amico & Co with the objective of responding to the necessity of offering adequate hospitality to superyachts which choose the shipyard for their maintenance works, even outside of their technical stops, Waterfront Marina is a fundamental project for reaching the important objective of further
establishing Genoa as a home port for super and mega yachts, rooting quality economic income in the territory that is growing, sustainable and can be perfectly integrated with city life. The new crew facilities are also available to the vessel
clients of Amico & Co.
Imagined and designed to be integrated with the Eastern Waterfront areas, object of a major transformation plan – outlined by Architect Renzo Piano on behalf of Genoa Municipality – it completes the seaward Eastern areas of the industrial nautical district of Genoa Port.
With the complete operativity of Waterfront Marina, the international project of promotion “Genoa Superyacht Hub” is launched, promoted by Amico & Co together with Pesto Sea Group, to sustain and make the excellence of the hospitality, assistance, technical and entertainment services that the hub can offer to the international super yachting community known at an international level, also through the valorisation of the cultural and environmental proposals and the extreme liveability of the Genoese, Ligurian and North Italian territory in general.
With its new Waterfront Marina, Genoa broadens and further improves the services and infrastructures that it can offer to large superyachts, establishing itself as a centre of attraction for the development of a community linked to the economy of the sea and to professional yachting and reinforcing its leadership in
the international yachting sector.
At the centre of the tourist routes of the Northern Mediterranean, Genoa boasts a strong and historical vocation, both as a port and with its artisans linked to the sea. The Genoese professional yachting sector counts more than 50 companies, accounting for a total of around 500 direct employees and more than €210 million of annual turnover, plus just as much again with satellite economy turnover, placing itself at the very top of the world classification.
