MANGUSTA AT THE 20TH EDITION OF THE BOAT INTERNATIONAL WORLD SUPERYACHT AWARDS.

With Venice as the magnificent backdrop to the ceremony and the sea the undisputed protagonist, the 20th edition of the BOAT International World Superyacht Awards was held on Saturday, 3rd May. The Mangusta Oceano 39 was awarded in the category ‘Displacement Motor Yachts – 499GT and below, 35 to 39.9m’.

The Awards organised every year by international magazine BOAT International – celebrate excellence in the design, engineering and style of the most remarkable luxury yachts in the world. This prestigious recognition is bestowed by a judging panel comprising experienced current and former superyacht owners and rewards the ingenuity, craftsmanship and innovation driving today’s superyacht industry.

Mangusta Oceano 39’s success is a testament not only to her beauty and impressive performances, but also to the passion, expertise, and vision that have always been hallmarks of the Mangusta brand. Not to mention that this award comes in the very year the Company is celebrating its 40th anniversary, thereby paying tribute to the journey we’ve taken and the future we are shaping. Built at the Viareggio shipyard, the Mangusta Oceano 39 is the entry-level of the Mangusta Oceano long-range displacement line. This second unit in the series premiered last September at the latest Cannes Yachting Festival.

The Mangusta Oceano – 39.2 metres in length, 8.5 metres wide, and with a gross tonnage of 324 GT – has a composite hull and a carbon & composite superstructure. She mounts
two MTU 12V 2000 M86, 1700 HP diesel engines that push her to a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots, allowing her to reach a range of 2,250 nautical miles. She can host up to 12 guests in 5 cabins plus 7 crew members, always in the utmost onboard comfort.

This project saw the Mangusta Technical Department team up with designer Alberto Mancini, who pencilled the yacht’s exterior lines. The Mangusta Oceano 39 stands out for her innovative looks and generous volumes. Minimal design and wide glazed surfaces create a smooth, fluid continuity between interiors and exteriors, offering her guests a truly immersive cruising experience and unmatched relaxation.

Key features on this vessel include floor-to-ceiling opening windows on the main deck and a stylish material and design consistency across all indoor and outdoor areas. The upper deck, featuring a second glazed salon and several lounge areas, captures the essence of a contemporary patio overlooking the sea; the bow, in turns, hosts an infinity pool with a partially glass bottom that lets natural light flood the owner’s suite located below it.
Completing the layout are an 85 m² flybridge entirely enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glazing and a versatile beach area fitted with fold-down side terraces.

This was the Judging Panel’s motivation for choosing the Mangusta Oceano 39 as the winner in her category: “This company has done an amazing job in pivoting from go-fast boats to cruisers,” said one judge of Mangusta, the builder of the Oceano 39, which took the top spot in her class of displacement yachts. The build quality, layout, volume and value of the Oceano 39 were elements that led the judges to award her the win.

The judges also praised the harmonious interior styling, which showed consistency in material choices, such as the teak that’s found on the ceilings inside the yacht as well as on the exterior decks. Copious amounts of floor-to-ceiling glazing are used on the superstructure, which allows light to flow inside and also literally opens up the interiors to the outside world with partially opening sections in the glass”.
