Luminor due 3 days automatic Titanio – 45m
The Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic is now available in two new versions with the case 45 mm in diameter: in titanium, with a blue dial and an alligator strap of the same colour (PAM00729) or in AISI 316L stainless steel, with an anthracite dial and a brown alligator strap (PAM00739).Both models use one of the most sophisticated movements from the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, the P.4000 automatic calibre, with a power reserve of three days and off-centred rotor. Compared to the Luminor 1950 model of the same size, both these two new creations are significantly thinner and lighter. This is possible because ofthe ingenious structure of the calibre and the work of the designers which have enabled the thickness of the case to be reduced by almost 40% (10.7 mm), while preserving the watch’s sturdiness and functionality, and leaving its distinctive design unchanged.
The most distinctive feature of the P.4000 calibre, clearly visible through the porthole opening in the back, is the off- centred micro-rotor which rotates in both directions, winding up the two spring barrels which can store a power reserve of three days. The balance bridge is the type with twin supports, safer and stronger than the usual cantilever bridge, and the watch also has the device which stops the balance when the winding crown is pulled out, so that the watch can be perfectly synchronised. In the steel version, the P.4000 calibre is the fascinating P.4000/10 skeletonised version, with an oscillating weight of 22-carat gold decorated with clous de Paris. With a circular brushed finish and gilded engraving, the bridges are skeletonized to enable a large part of the movement to be seen, and every detail is clearly visible through the large porthole inthe sapphire crystal opening in the back. In the titanium version, the oscillating weight is made of tungsten, a material very suitable for this purpose because of its high specific weight.
In perfect Panerai style, the dial of the new Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic has the sandwich structure, satinésoleil finish and minimalist design, with figures at the cardinal points, bar hour markers and the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. The water-resistance of the two models is guaranteed to 3 bar (a depth of about 30 metres).
