Longines returned as Official Timekeeper for the Beach Polo Cup 2015
The much anticipated annual Beach Polo Cup recently culminated in an exciting finish. The two day tournament was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Club on the 10th and 11th of April at the Skydive Dubai complex. In its 11th year now, the Beach Polo cup once again had prominent Swiss watchmaker, Longines, as the Official Timekeeper and Watch of the event.
A sport that blends fun with elegance, the Beach Polo Cup is an internationally, celebrated social event highlighted in every major sporting and social calendar. After two exhilarating and entertaining days of competition between four stellar teams, it was Matías Machado, Tariq Albwardy and Sam Instone from the Cadillac team who win the tournament. The winning trio were awarded three striking Conquest Classic Moonphase timepieces in steel from Longines’ Conquest Classic line.
The timepiece in steel that the champions received is part of the brand’s remarkable Conquest Classic line and is a fitting tribute to the chronographs produced from 1881 for race-goers and jockeys in New York. This flawless model has a diameter of 42 mm and is fitted with a self-winding mechanical chronograph moon phase movement.
