Commenting on the occasion of the inauguration, Frederic Watrelot, head of Christie’s Watch departments in Hong Kong and Dubai, said, “An event like the Salon des Grandes Complications has been missing in the Middle East for some time. The opening today is a special moment that marks the beginning of a new era for fine watchmakers in the region by offering a highly exclusive stage for dialogue, exchange inspiration, new partnerships and we are delighted to be part of this significant moment.”
“The Middle East watch industry is really blooming; imports are the highest they ever have been and the number of collectors and connoisseurs is also steadily increasing. Awareness about the true splendor of a beautifully crafted timepiece is on the up and it is an honour to be involved in perpetuating appreciation for the industry with the inaugural Salon des Grandes Complications,” said organiser Nader Freiha, Director of MPP Middle East and Publisher of Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine.
