First Continental Trawler 2395 Flybridge

First Continental Trawler 2395 Flybridge under construction at Wim van der Valk in The Netherlands

Construction has begun on the first all-aluminium 24 metre semi-custom Continental Trawler 2395 Flybridge model at the Wim van der Valk yard in the Netherlands, with delivery due in Spring 2016. The 2395 model is the first of an exciting new series of semi-custom trawler-style yachts designed for the yard by Guido de Groot. The yacht is being built on spec and is available for sale.

Designed to be a contemporary go-anywhere yacht, the 2395’s round-bilged hull and semi-displacement capabilities will allow maximum fuel efficiency. This, together with the large fuel tank and light aluminium construction, will enable it to achieve a very long range, making it ideal for the client looking to explore the world in comfort and style. Powered by twin V8 MAN 1200HP engines, she will be capable of reaching a maximum speed of 18 knots. As the base engine system has been designed to accommodate a wide range of systems and brands, at this stage of construction there is still the option for potential owners to make their own choice of size and make of engines, gearbox and stablisers, dependent on the range and speed required.

Boasting a large volume, the 2395’s interior is both practical and sophisticated. “The Trawler 2395 Flybridge has been designed from the inside out,” said Guido de Groot. “She combines a large interior volume within a hull length of 24 metres in a stylish and modern no nonsense look, as you would expect from a go anywhere yacht.”

The yacht will be able to accommodate eight guests across four spacious cabins, with crew quarters for four crew astern. Besides having a sumptuous flybridge, additional outdoor recreational space can be found forward of the wheelhouse on the main deck.

The new 2395 model embodies all that Wim van der Valk Continental Yachts is known for: reliability, solid construction and advanced technologies. Founded in 1968, the family business is proud to have a solid future order book and to regularly welcome both new and repeat customers alike.

Co-operation, collaboration and communication are all qualities Wim van der Valk prides itself on, with these trademarks reflected in the build process of all their yachts. These core qualities are applied throughout all aspects of every build project, both during and after delivery, with only a limited number of Continental Yachts produced annually to ensure the quality and exclusivity of each individual yacht. “Our relationship with clients, suppliers, designers, project managers and all those who work with us to create these spectacular yachts is very important to us,” said Patrick Lankhuizen, Managing Director of Wim van der Valk. “Any chance to collaborate and contribute to achieve the best possible solution for the client is always relished by the Wim van der Valk team.”

The yard welcomes all enquiries for the 2395 model and the new Guido de Groot Continental Trawler range.
