EXCITING WEEK AT TURQUOIS 79M PROJECT TORO LAUNCHED & 75M PROJECT ARROW TRANSFERRED TO PENDIK SHIPWARD
The week of May 20th was especially busy at Turquoise. Two of the four mega motor yachts ranging from 76m to 87m, currently under construction, completed major milestones this week.
Turquoise Yachts is thrilled to announce the successful launch of 79m Project TORO on May 21st, 2024, and the transfer of 76m Project ARROW from our Kocaeli facility to our Pendik shipyard on May 23rd. Turquoise currently has six yachts under construction: the 80-metre Bravo, the 76-metre Arrow, and the 87-metre Vento and 79-metre Toro. The 42-metre S/Y Wildcat and 51-metre S/Y Rainbow II are the next in line, following the successful delivery of the multiple award-winner 75-metre Infinite Jest and the 53-metre Jewels.
Project Toro launched
The outstanding Project TORO, sold through SuperYachtsMonaco, will be the largest yacht delivered after the 77-meter GO. Toro’s interior and exterior design belongs to Harrison Eidsgaard. Ben Harrison from Harrison Eidsgaard Design, states: “We are delighted that our first collaboration with Turquoise Yachts is the full custom 79m Project TORO. She features a neo-classical exterior with hints of a funnel rising from main deck to sun deck. The interior is the definition of serenity and calm, featuring a huge Neptune lounge, and many other stunning features.”
Project TORO represents the culmination of Turquoise team’s tireless efforts, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to innovation. We congratulate the entire team for their dedication and passion.
76m Project Arrow Transferred to Pendik Shipyard
Turquoise’s floating dock transferred Turquoise’s first hybrid yacht, 76m project ARROW, from our Kocaeli facility to our Pendik shipyard to complete the interior installation, outfitting, and general completion.
Turquoise designed the yacht’s hull and naval architecture. The Italian studio Team for Design Enrico Gobbi is responsible for exterior styling and H2 Yacht Design is responsible for interior design. Project ARROW has a beam of 13.2m, making it a spacious 1932GT – notwithstanding her sleek profile.
Project ARROW is pushing boundaries with its hybrid drive propulsion. Powered by MTU 12V4000 M65L diesel engines and hybrid drive, she can reach speeds up to 10 knots in battery mode or maintain silent mode for extended periods thanks to the 1.5 MW lithium battery capacity – which can alternatively propel the yacht via the permanent magnet electric motors powering the shaft through PTI via gearboxes produced by ZF. The benefits of conventional diesel-powered propulsion are also available, of course, via the same gearbox.
With a battery-powered hybrid propulsion system and fully integrated by MTU, ARROW is very clearly a yacht that will remain cutting-edge for many years.
