Marco Bucci, Mayor of Genoa: “Walking along the quays over the course of these past few days I have heard people complimenting the new layout, the canals, the new Blue Island completely surrounded by water. The yachting industry and the Genoa International Boat Show are an important business that grows every year and have an enormous economic and employment impact on our city. Next year will be the year we inaugurate the Waterfront di Levante. This brand-new location, paired with an event like the Genoa Boat Show are operating in synergy and already seizing exceptional opportunities”.

Luigi Attanasio, President of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce: “It is a pleasure for me to be here to celebrate an exhibition like our Genoa International Boat Show. I would like to thank President Cecchi for the immense effort and great deal of work carried out by the entire yachting industry. The Genoa Chamber of Commerce has tried to accompany all the events related to the Genoa Boat Show, including the Design Innovation Award held in the stunning hall of the Palazzo della Borsa, an event that celebrated the combination of magnificent boats and the Salone del Mobile.Milano, Milan’s international furniture and design show, the two most important events that promote the Made in Italy brand across the globe”.

Giovanni Toti, President of the Liguria Regional Council: “This year’s Genoa International Boat Show has been a winning edition from every point of view. Operators are talking about an extraordinary sales number and a lot of appreciation from the public, more than they had expected. Moreover, Genoa has truly embraced this event like never before, hosting dozens of events all over the city that in turn involved thousands of people. This edition demonstrates how the Genoa Boat Show is increasingly synonymous with Liguria and Genoa. Just as synonymous with Liguria and Genoa are sectors like yachting, shipbuilding, tourist marinas, and many other sectors at the heart of the blue economy. We can already the fruits of our labours, of the hard work begun years ago to unite hospitality, industry, tourism, and the great urban redevelopment work of the Foce designed by Renzo Piano. Today marks the last day of a week that has perfectly symbolised the development model that we want to build in Liguria”.

The 63rd Genoa International Boat Show was also able to count on the support of the Italian Trade Agency, which organised, in partnership with the Italian Marine Industry Association, the participation at the Genoa Boat Show of a delegation of foreign journalists and buyers from 35 countries spanning 5 continents through the international press and B2B tour included in the Made in Italy Promotion Plan of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
