Book Ends Delivered
This 47m displacement motor yacht below 500GT was sold to an experienced American yachtsman.
Book Ends will spend the summer season cruising in the Mediterranean and then will cross the Atlantic to attend the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
She is currently sailing towards Gibraltar in moderate sea conditions with long waves. The captain comments: “It feels very safe as Book Ends’ structure is solid – Dutch solid! The vessel is very responsive and accepts steering commands immediately. The use of the large rudders in conjunction with the power steering unit makes for a very quick reaction when the steering tiller is moved, even the slightest amount.
We can’t wait to welcome the Owners on board their new home away from home!”
Book Ends’ exterior classic contemporary lines are designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, while Bannenberg & Rowell created a rich and luxurious interior style inspired by the theme of kinetic energy. This beautiful design package encases a perfectly engineered machine built according to the highest Dutch quality standards.
Book Ends – equipped with two MTU diesel engines 8V 4000 M63 – easily exceeded the contractual speed by 0.6 knots, reaching 15.6 knots during her sea trials, and has a transatlantic range of 4,000nm at 12 knots.
Book Ends is a great new addition to the fast growing Heesen fleet!
