BAGLIETTO, FLOATING LIFE AND VOLVO PENTA ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE SALE OF A NEW FULLY CUSTOM 48M PROJECT.
Born from the shared vision to develop a project with a truly strong identity, hull number 10277 is the response to her Owner’s request for an extremely seaworthy vessel that would allow him to cruise around the world.
Three leaders of luxury yachting have joined forces to create a unique project with a strong personality.
Such a strong declaration of intent has also guided each design choice made in collaboration with Andrea Pezzini, the founder and General Manager of Floating Life, who will not only be representing the Owner in all construction phases, but also play an important technical advisory role.
Floating Life will take care of exterior and interior design working in synergy with design firm Satura Studio. The hull and naval engineering, conceived by Floating Life and fine- tuned in cooperation with Zero13 under the supervision of Baglietto for production, are designed to achieve the ICE CLASS 1D certification for long-range navigation in extreme environments and latitudes.

A smooth transition between interior and exterior living areas and the closest possible contact with the sea and nature are the core features of this vessel, further enhanced by the use of warm, natural materials that skillfully combine maximum comfort and uncompromising, stylish elegance. The panoramic salon on the main deck is surrounded by 360° glazed surfaces, and the engine room located on the under-lower deck means that the lower deck can flow seamlessly from stern to bow – a design concept completed by the transparent staircases connecting the various decks.
The hull has been designed to reduce drag and ensure a range of over 5,000 nautical miles while reducing fuel consumption by up to 30%.
Another distinctive feature of this project is the 10-meter tender launching system, which the Owner’s team has specially designed for this fully-custom project to best meet the Owner’s specific needs. The mechanism draws inspiration from the historical hauling systems used by Italian shipyards in the 1940s–1960s, reinterpreting them in a modern key: thanks to a fast, optimised process, a retractable platform allows the tender to be launched directly into the sea and retrieved safely – an innovative and functional solution which is unmatched on the market, developed in collaboration with Besenzoni.

Propulsion will be entrusted to the Volvo Penta IPS Professional Platform, the most advanced marine propulsion system currently available in the superyacht sector.
Thanks to its fully integrated architecture—from helm to propeller—this platform delivers an unprecedented navigation experience in terms of efficiency, performance, and control. The dual power input design allows for the combination of different energy sources, ensuring maximum flexibility and operational redundancy, even in complex scenarios. Among its intelligent features, the Eco Mode stands out: it automatically optimizes engine operation based on real navigation conditions. During cruising or maneuvering, the system can operate two of the four propulsion units, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, extending maintenance intervals, and ensuring a quieter, more comfortable onboard experience. The system’s exceptional compactness and versatility also allow for optimized engine room space, freeing up valuable volume that can be allocated during the design phase to additional areas for owners, guests, or crew.

“We are delighted to renew this fruitful collaboration with Floating Life – comments Baglietto’s Chief Commercial Officer Fabio Ermetto – This new project once more attests to our shipyard’s great flexibility and leadership in the construction of high-tech, tailor-made yachts, as also confirmed by our partnership with Volvo Penta for the supply of a cutting-edge propulsion system”.
“Cooperating with leading companies like Baglietto and Volvo Penta makes us extremely proud – says Andrea Pezzini, co-founder and General Manager of Floating Life – This 48-metre custom project is a tangible example of the way we interpret the concept of ‘tailor-made’: accompanying the Owner in the realization of their dream, from technical development to the definition of the yacht’s layout – an approach that also recently led to the establishment of our New Build Division”.

“We are proud to be partnering with Baglietto and Floating Life on this project,” says Nicola Pomi, Vice President of Volvo Penta’s Yacht and Superyacht division. “The design of the new 48-meter yacht, equipped with the innovative Volvo Penta Professional Platform, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the superyacht world: it combines innovation and efficiency, delivering outstanding performance for long-range cruising. It is a clear demonstration of how, together, we can redefine the future of premium yachting.”
