AZIMUT MAGELLANO 27M WINS THE DESIGN INNOVATION AWARD 2026
The latest generation of Azimut’s crossover series has been recognised in the “Superyachts over 24 meters” category at the Genoa International Boat Show, celebrating its distinctive design, innovative layout and sophisticated approach to life at sea.
The Azimut Magellano 27M, the third generation of the brand’s renowned crossover series, has received the Design Innovation Award 2026 in the “Superyachts over 24 meters” category. The prestigious award was presented during the Genoa International Boat Show, recognising the yacht’s innovative approach to design, onboard living and contemporary cruising.

Now in its seventh edition, the Design Innovation Award is promoted by Confindustria Nautica and I Saloni Nautici and celebrates projects that demonstrate outstanding achievement in research, technological innovation and design quality across the international yachting industry.
The award further reinforces the Magellano 27M’s position as an important evolution of Azimut’s crossover philosophy, combining distinctive exterior styling with an innovative onboard layout and carefully considered interior spaces designed to enhance the relationship between guests, the yacht and the surrounding sea.

The jury recognised the Magellano 27M for “the ability to combine a break with stylistic conventions, innovative layout, elegant finishes, and a seamless harmony with high-quality interior spaces. The result is a product with a strong identity that clearly declares its vocation as a vessel designed for living.”
A new generation of the Magellano series the Magellano 27M represents the third generation of Azimut’s crossover concept, continuing the evolution of a series created for owners seeking extended time on the water without compromising on style, comfort or sophistication.

At 27 metres, the yacht brings together the qualities associated with long-range cruising and the refined design language expected from a contemporary luxury yacht. Its concept places particular emphasis on creating spaces intended not simply for travelling between destinations, but for experiencing life at sea in a more natural and immersive way.
The yacht’s distinctive identity is reflected throughout its exterior and interior design. Rather than following conventional approaches to yacht architecture, the Magellano 27M introduces a fresh interpretation of onboard spaces, creating an environment where functionality, elegance and comfort work together seamlessly.

Its innovative layout has been conceived to maximise the usability of the yacht while strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor areas. Carefully considered proportions, sophisticated finishes and expansive living spaces contribute to an atmosphere designed around relaxation, socialising and extended periods on board.
Design created around life at sea central to the Magellano 27M’s design philosophy is the idea of the yacht as a true living environment.
The arrangement of spaces has been developed to create a natural flow throughout the vessel, allowing guests to move easily between different areas while maintaining a strong visual and physical connection with the sea. This approach helps create a sense of openness and continuity, transforming the yacht into a sophisticated retreat suited to both cruising and time spent at anchor.

Elegant materials and carefully selected finishes complement the architectural concept, bringing warmth and refinement to the interiors while maintaining the distinctive personality of the Magellano range.
The result is a yacht designed to deliver a highly considered onboard experience, where aesthetics and functionality are closely connected. Every element contributes to a broader vision of contemporary yachting in which comfort, design and the experience of the surrounding environment are equally important.
Winning the Design Innovation Award 2026 highlights the Magellano 27M’s ability to challenge established stylistic conventions while maintaining the elegance and sophistication expected within the superyacht sector.
The recognition also reflects Azimut’s continued focus on developing yachts with a strong and immediately recognisable identity. Through the Magellano series, the shipyard continues to explore new interpretations of crossover cruising, bringing together versatility, contemporary design and spaces conceived around the way owners and guests use their yachts.

Presented at one of the Mediterranean’s leading international boating events, the award places the Magellano 27M among the standout new yacht designs recognised for their contribution to the evolution of the industry.
For Azimut, the accolade represents another milestone for the Magellano range and its distinctive approach to modern cruising. With its innovative layout, elegant finishes and emphasis on creating harmonious, liveable spaces, the Magellano 27M demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform the experience of being at sea.
The Design Innovation Award 2026 ultimately recognises not only the yacht’s aesthetic character but also the philosophy behind it creating a vessel with a strong identity, conceived first and foremost as a place to live, explore and experience the sea.
