AB YACHTS PRESENTS THE THIRD AB 130 UNIT
A highly customized 39.65-metre yacht combining 41-knot performance with generous living spaces, flexibility and bespoke design
AB Yachts, a Next Yacht Group brand, presents the third unit of the AB 130, a 39.65-metre yacht that interprets the brand’s high-performance DNA through a highly customized project developed around the requirements of an experienced yacht owner.
Capable of reaching a top speed of 41 knots, the new AB 130 combines outstanding performance with a layout designed to enhance life on board, conviviality and spatial flexibility. The configuration balances the unmistakably sporty character of AB Yachts with generous living areas, family-oriented solutions and particular attention to the comfort and privacy of both guests and crew.
The project was developed entirely by the shipyard, which oversaw both the exterior and interior design, translating the owner’s vision into a series of bespoke solutions throughout the yacht.
Main Deck at the heart of the main deck is an approximately 63-square-metre main saloon, where the living and dining areas come together in a single open-plan environment. The arrangement enhances visual continuity while creating a natural sense of space and freedom of movement.
The aft deck has been conceived as a multifunctional area dedicated to socializing and relaxation. A dining table with seating and sofa, generous sunpads, an outdoor dining area and a Jacuzzi create a versatile setting for enjoying life at sea.
At water level, the approximately 30-square-metre bathing platform can be further extended by two fold-down wings of approximately six square metres each, creating an expansive waterside terrace.
The yacht also incorporates a twin tender garage alongside dedicated solutions for the storage and handling of water toys, maximizing the possibilities for recreation and enjoyment while at anchor.
The lower deck has been developed around three core principles privacy, comfort and adaptability.
The approximately 36-square-metre master suite, complete with dressing area, was designed to the owner’s specifications. An additional bed/sofa introduces further flexibility and can be separated from the main sleeping area when required. The en suite bathroom features separate his-and-hers washbasins.
Guest accommodation includes two VIP cabins and one twin cabin, each with its own en suite bathroom.
Among the project’s most distinctive features is an approximately 12-square-metre playroom, created by transforming an additional guest cabin into a multifunctional space primarily conceived as a private cinema.
A double-height volume and glazed overhead panel allow natural light to filter softly into the room, while a blackout blind enables complete darkness for screenings. Soft leather upholstery protects the corners, reflecting the attention paid to guest safety throughout the yacht.
Designed to evolve with the owner’s needs, the room can later be transformed into a gym equipped with an exercise bike or treadmill, or configured as a combined study and fitness area.
Particular attention has also been devoted to the crew spaces. The galley and dinette feature the same materials found in the guest areas, underlining the owner’s focus on providing a high standard of life on board for the crew. The galley has also been conceived as a potential extension of the VIP area, while the main-saloon pantry echoes the same high-quality finishes, ensuring visual continuity throughout the interiors.
Offering approximately 58 square metres of open deck space, the sundeck has been conceived as a true outdoor living area, integrating four distinct functions within a single environment.
Forward, a fully equipped outdoor helm station has been developed through a bespoke design process to provide a more functional and engaging driving experience.
The helm is complemented by an alfresco dining area with a sofa and table accommodating up to 10 guests, a panoramic bar designed for aperitifs, and a generous sunbathing area.
The result is a carefully integrated combination of helm station, dining area, bar and sunbathing space. Developed in close collaboration with the owner, this successful configuration has also become a benchmark for the next AB 130 currently under construction and scheduled for delivery at the beginning of the 2027 season.
The selection of materials reinforces the tailor-made character of the yacht through a sophisticated combination of tactile surfaces, luminous finishes and bespoke detailing.
The interiors feature Alcantara, selected for its premium technical qualities and ease of maintenance, complemented by metallic accents, pearl-lacquered storage elements and a bespoke one-off table finished with elegant travertine marble.
Backlit onyx-clad columns serve as both architectural and lighting features, integrated into a carefully considered illumination scheme that guides movement through the corridors and principal interior spaces.
The color palette is centered on refined shades of beige, complemented by the light brown tones of the parquet flooring and customized lacquered finishes. Travertine and onyx define the principal living spaces, while the bathrooms combine pearlescent lacquered paneling with Emperador marble.
The headboards further emphasize the yacht’s bespoke identity. Marine Leather developed distinctive three-dimensional stitching specifically for the project, translating the owner’s requests into detailing inspired by the world of luxury.
Performance remains at the core of the AB 130. The yacht is powered by three MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each rated at 2,600 hp, delivering a combined output of 7,800 hp. The propulsion system incorporates two MJP steerable waterjets and one MJP central booster, enabling a top speed of 41 knots while providing excellent maneuverability and control.
The hull and superstructure are constructed in composite materials, while a Gyro Stabilizer system enhances comfort both at zero speed and underway.
The AB 130 offers an approximate range of 450 nautical miles at cruising speed and is prepared for the installation of SCR systems, supporting more sustainable cruising.
With this third unit, the AB 130 demonstrates how the performance-driven identity of AB Yachts can be shaped around an owner’s individual way of experiencing the sea.
Speed remains central to the project, but it forms part of a broader vision in which performance, comfort, generous shared spaces and extensive customization coexist without compromise.
