BERING YACHTS PRESENTS FIRST HULL OF BERING BC60
Bering Yachts has unveiled a detailed walkthrough of the first hull of the Bering BC60, an all-aluminium expedition catamaran that brings the shipyard’s renowned explorer yacht DNA into a twin-hull platform.
Led by Bering Yachts founder and CEO Alexei Mikhailov, the walkthrough offers an in-depth look at the vessel’s design, engineering, onboard comfort and long-range cruising capabilities. Already delivered and afloat, the first BC60 represents a significant milestone in the shipyard’s expansion into the expedition catamaran segment.

Measuring 18.9 metres (60 feet) in length with an impressive 8.6-metre beam, the Bering BC60 has been purpose-built as a displacement explorer rather than a conventional high-speed leisure catamaran. Constructed entirely from aluminium, the vessel combines structural strength, exceptional stability and a shallow draft of just 1.58 metres, allowing access to a wider variety of cruising destinations.
Designed for extended voyages, the BC60 features a fuel capacity exceeding 13,500 litres, delivering a range of more than 3,500 nautical miles at a comfortable cruising speed of 8 knots. Fresh-water capacity is approximately 3,000 litres, complemented by separate grey-water and black-water tanks of 1,500 litres each.

“We took the DNA we already proved on the B72 and B88 range, reliability, quiet running and the ability to stay self-sufficient for extended periods and applied it to a catamaran platform,” said Alexei Mikhailov, founder and CEO of Bering Yachts. “This is not a leisure cat, it is a displacement exploration machine.”
Spacious Interiors Designed for Long-Range Comfort the BC60’s main deck features a spacious salon with panoramic views and a fully equipped helm station offering 360-degree visibility. A professional galley, thoughtfully arranged on both sides, provides the equipment and practicality required for efficient meal preparation during extended journeys.

Accommodation has been carefully planned to maximise privacy, comfort and functionality. One hull houses a generous master stateroom with ample space to walk around the bed, expansive panoramic windows, a walk-in wardrobe and a spacious en-suite bathroom with a full shower.
The opposite hull accommodates two guest cabins, each with a private bathroom. A dedicated crew cabin, along with laundry and pantry facilities, additional refrigeration and extensive storage areas, further enhances the yacht’s suitability for long-distance cruising.
Advanced Engineering and Exceptional Onboard Autonomy a distinctive feature of the BC60 is its unusually deep hulls, which accommodate a two-level engine room arrangement. This configuration provides convenient access to essential technical equipment, including generators, watermakers, sewage treatment systems and other onboard machinery.

The arrangement also helps isolate noise and vibration from the accommodation areas, contributing to a quieter and more comfortable onboard environment during extended passages.
The vessel’s aluminium construction and carefully considered weight distribution allow for a fully enclosed flybridge, designed to function as a genuine second salon. Featuring a bar, refrigeration, a day head and uninterrupted 360-degree visibility, this versatile space can be configured as an additional lounge, private office or gym according to the owner’s preferences.
Built for Exploration Without Compromise onboard comfort, safety and operational efficiency remain central to the BC60’s design philosophy. Low sound and vibration levels at cruising speed create a refined atmosphere, while generous storage capacity supports extended periods of self-sufficient exploration.

Flexible accommodation arrangements allow the vessel to suit both owner-operated cruising and voyages supported by a small professional crew. Protected running gear, robust aluminium construction and careful attention to structural integrity further reinforce the shipyard’s commitment to safety and reliability.
With the delivery of its first hull, the Bering BC60 demonstrates how the shipyard’s established expedition yacht expertise can be successfully adapted to a catamaran platform, combining long-range capability, practical engineering and generous living spaces.
The Bering BC60 represents a new chapter in Bering Yachts’ explorer fleet, offering owners the freedom to undertake ambitious voyages with the comfort, independence and confidence expected of a true expedition vessel.
