OCEAN KING UNVEILS THE NEW DUCALE SERIES AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW
The new 36.58-metre explorer yacht concept combines Ocean King’s technical heritage with contemporary design by VYD Studio and naval architecture by Arrabito Naval Architects and Italtecnica.
Ocean King unveils the new Ducale series at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, introducing a new generation of explorer yacht concepts that combine robust construction and long-range capability with contemporary design, generous living spaces and a closer connection to the sea.
The first model in the series is the Ducale 37, a 36.58-metre full-displacement explorer yacht featuring a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and bulbous bow. Exterior and interior design are by VYD Studio with naval architecture by Arrabito Naval Architects and Italtecnica.
The Ducale range will also include a 49-metre model and a larger 799 GT model, both scheduled to be presented in the coming weeks.
Rather than departing from Ocean King’s established identity, the Ducale series represents its natural evolution. The solidity, generous volumes and seagoing capabilities associated with the brand are reinterpreted through cleaner lines, a more dynamic profile and a renewed approach to life on board.
An evolution of Ocean King’s explorer DNA with an overall length of 36.58 metres and a maximum beam of 8.20 metres, the Ducale 37 has been conceived to achieve a commanding yet balanced presence on the water.
VYD Studio has adopted a refined, reductive approach, combining clean surfaces, strong horizontal lines and extensive glazing to visually lighten the yacht’s substantial volumes while preserving the strength and character of her profile.
The technical foundations of an authentic explorer yacht remain central to the project. A full-displacement hull with bulbous bow, steel construction and aluminium superstructure provide the platform for a yacht designed to deliver solidity, efficiency and comfort during extended navigation.
Ocean King’s characteristic strength becomes an integral part of the yacht’s visual identity not simply as a construction principle, but as an expression of character.
“With Ducale, we worked on the evolution of an already very strong identity, seeking a natural balance between Ocean King’s authentic explorer character and a more contemporary design language. The proportions, continuity between the spaces and direct relationship with the sea were central elements of the project. The objective was to create a yacht capable of expressing solidity without appearing aggressive and refinement without losing her character,” says Paolo Dose, designer at VYD Studio.
Designed around a closer connection to the sea a defining feature of the Ducale 37 is its expansive aft swimming pool, conceived as the centrepiece of an exterior guest area dedicated to relaxation and life close to the water.
The pool establishes a strong visual and physical connection with the sea, transforming the aft section into a privileged waterside environment and creating a natural focal point for the yacht’s outdoor spaces.
This relationship between interior and exterior continues throughout VYD Studio’s interior concept. Extensive glazing introduces abundant natural light into the guest areas, while direct and intuitive circulation between the principal spaces creates a fluid onboard experience.
Interior and exterior volumes have been developed to maximise liveability and accommodate the different rhythms of life at sea, from social gatherings and entertaining to quieter moments of privacy and relaxation.
The accommodation layout welcomes 10 guests across five staterooms, comprising an owner’s suite, two VIP staterooms and two guest staterooms.
Dedicated accommodation is provided for a crew of seven, with three bunk-bed cabins for six crew members and a separate captain’s cabin.
Long-range capability and efficient performance with a projected displacement of approximately 360 tonnes at half load, the Ducale 37 is designed to achieve a maximum speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots.
At an economical speed of 10 knots, the calculated range is approximately 4,000 nautical miles, reflecting the project’s emphasis on extended cruising and long-distance navigation.
The propulsion package is based on MAN V12 engines compliant with IMO Tier III emissions standards and equipped with an SCR system. Further details regarding engine configuration, model and power output will be announced at a later stage.
Tank capacities include 40,000 litres of fuel, 7,000 litres of fresh water and a combined 5,000 litres of black and grey water capacity.
The project has been developed for RINA C ✠ HULL ● MACH, Commercial Short Range classification.
These technical characteristics are complemented by a functional distribution of onboard spaces and design solutions conceived to enhance comfort and operational efficiency during navigation, reinforcing the Ducale 37’s identity as a genuine explorer yacht designed for prolonged periods at sea.
A new chapter for the Ducale series the new Ducale series represents the maturation of an established design philosophy rather than a departure from the past.
Ocean King’s focus on strength, reliability and navigational capability remains at the heart of the concept, while VYD Studio introduces a contemporary interpretation of elegance, comfort and connection with the marine environment.
The result is an explorer yacht in which technical substance and refined design coexist naturally, establishing a new balance between strength, functionality and understated elegance.
Its unveiling at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 offers the international yachting community its first opportunity to discover Ocean King’s new vision for the Ducale series.
