TECNOMARINE YACHTS: THE RELAUNCH FROM PISA WITH THE NEW TM33 AND TM40
Historic Italian yacht builder Tecnomarine Yachts is entering a new era under the ownership of entrepreneur Massimiliano Zilioli, relaunching operations from the Pisa Navicelli district with an all-aluminium yacht range spanning 25 to 50 metres. The first two models to debut as part of the revival the TM33 and TM40 have been developed in collaboration with Dragoni Designlab and will make their official debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The launch of the TM33 marks a significant milestone in Tecnomarine’s return. Developed alongside Dragoni Designlab, the 33-metre model reflects the shipyard’s renewed vision while reconnecting with the heritage established decades ago along the Pisa canal where the brand built its reputation as one of Italy’s leading aluminium yacht manufacturers.
Founded in Viareggio in 1972 by Moreno Maestrelli together with the renowned Picchiotti family of yacht builders, and supported by celebrated yacht designer Paolo Caliari, Tecnomarine produced more than 300 yachts throughout its history. Among its most recognised creations were the C-42, the Cobra series and the flagship 36-metre T-118, all of which helped establish the shipyard’s international reputation. The company embarks on a new chapter with fresh ownership, management and an industrial strategy focused exclusively on large aluminium yachts.
At the helm of the relaunch is Massimiliano Zilioli, who has acquired the Tecnomarine brand and established production at the Navicelli Canal shipyard in Pisa. The facility includes 3,500 square metres of covered production space alongside 3,000 square metres of outdoor working areas, providing the capacity to build fully custom yachts tailored to the specific requirements of individual owners.
Aluminium at the Core the new Tecnomarine strategy centres entirely on aluminium construction for displacement and semi-displacement yachts ranging from 25 to 50 metres. The decision reflects the material’s strength, durability, sustainability and design flexibility, enabling the shipyard to create highly customised yachts with exceptional seaworthiness.
The approach also represents a return to Tecnomarine’s original expertise while incorporating modern engineering standards and production techniques. By strengthening its presence in Tuscany an internationally respected hub for metal yacht construction and outfitting the company aims to combine traditional craftsmanship with advanced manufacturing capabilities.

A Five-Model Aluminium Portfolio Tecnomarine’s renewed product line comprises five all-aluminium models: the TM33, TM40, TM41, TM45 and TM90. The initial focus of the relaunch, however, is on the TM33 and TM40, both created in partnership with Michele Dragoni’s Dragoni Designlab.
The 33-metre TM33 reimagines the aluminium fast cruiser with sleek, dynamic exterior styling balanced by a highly functional interior designed to maximise onboard comfort. The layout creates generous outdoor entertainment areas while maintaining a sporty, streamlined profile.
Meanwhile, the 40-metre TM40 showcases the advantages of aluminium construction for long-range cruising. Its design emphasises a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces through extensive mirrored glazing, while the expansive aft terrace has been conceived to strengthen the connection between guests and the surrounding sea.
Official Presentation in Monaco Tecnomarine will officially unveil its new direction during the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, where the company will introduce its industrial strategy, showcase its production facilities in Pisa Navicelli and present the complete model range with particular attention on the TM33 and TM40. The event will serve as the formal introduction of the revitalised brand to industry professionals, yacht brokers and the international yachting media.
