Arcadia Sherpa – One of the starts of the Palma International boat show
All is now ready for the Arcadia Sherpa’s appearance at the upcoming Palma International Boat Show, which takes place at Palma de Mallorca between April 28 and May 2. The 58’ yacht from the Italian yard will be one of the most eagerly-awaited craft at what is acknowledged as one of the leading spring events in the Mediterranean.
“This is the first time that Arcadia Yachts will be attending the Palma International Boat Show,” confirms the yard’s Sole Director Ugo Pellegrino. “We are doing so as a result of demand from our owners and potential prospects, more and more of whom of sailing these waters. The type of client that gravitates towards the Balearics is also beginning to become familiar with the Arcadia world and demanding increasing attention. This summer, in fact, one of the 5 Sherpa sold will be playing a leading role in these islands where its expert Owner has been sailing for many years.”
ARCADIA SHERPA – LIVING NATURE FROM THE LARGEST SEA TERRACE
Arcadia Yachts futuristic Sherpa is a jewel in the Italian yacht-building sector’s crown. This stunning compact, multi use yacht has brilliantly retained the signature Arcadia DNA in just 58 feet. In other words, people are the focus of its design, as is the case with all of Arcadia yachts, resulting in a focus on delivering maximum contact with nature both underway and at anchor.
At the heart of the project is an enormous aft deck. The largest in the world in a yacht of these dimensions, it is a terrace of approximately 45 square metres surrounded by nothing but pure, unspoilt nature. A genuinely convivial spot where, exhilarated by the gentle sea breeze and the scents of sea and nature, guests can savour the joys of a truly new kind of yachting experience.
As with all of its models, when it came to the Sherpa, the Italian yard adopted leading-edge technologies already well-established and proven in other industrial sectors. A good example is the convertible sky lounge where Up & Down windows can be opened to allow those aboard to continue to relish an immersive experience in direct contact with the sea and cooled by the sea breeze in summer.
In winter, conversely, the owner and his guests will still be able to enjoy the thrill of being surrounded by nature as all they have to do is close the windows and activate the modern air conditioning/climate control system to allow the area to be used effortlessly in a variety of different weather conditions. Much of the space aboard the Sherpa, but most notably the sky lounge, has been designed to create a convivial atmosphere, while the clever use of glazing affords 360-degree views of the surrounding sea and landscapes.
New-generation integrated solar cells adorn most of the superstructure. This advanced, eco-friendly solution provides enough energy to fuel many of the on board systems and equipment, whilst simultaneously guaranteeing unparalleled quiet at anchor, a significant fuel saving and, consequently, a smaller environmental footprint.
Arcadia is also synonymous with seakeeping prowess and quality. The Italian yard has optimised the NPL hulls developed in the 1960s by the National Physical Laboratory in London, which have been continuously evolved in the intervening decades. The result is low fuel consumption and a superb standard of sound-damping, both factors that enhance owner comfort and convenience.
