Success for Moonen as Monaco becomes Moonaco for a day

The 2016 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show went very well for the Dutch yard Moonen. Firstly, the recently launched 30-metre Moonen Matica Bijoux attracted a great deal of attention from show visitors. Bijoux is the first super yacht to be launched in Moonen’s new Caribbean line and her presentation in Monaco led to various sea trials being booked with potential clients, starting on the Monday immediately after the show.

“It was very encouraging for us to receive so many positive reactions to Bijoux from across the industry,” comments Moonen CEO Emile Bilterijst. “The elegant lines of the six different models in the Caribbean line are clearly visible in this Matica version.

The next to see the light of day will be the larger Martinique, which at 37m/120’/350 GT offers five luxurious suites for 10 guests. This yacht will be ready early 2018 and we welcome visits to our yard in Holland to see how she is shaping up.”

Another reason why Moonen made a splash in Monaco was its decision to have the whole yard team fly in to visit the show on the Saturday. Monaco became Moonaco for a short while as they carried out a special performance in various different locations.

The ‘Caribbean ladies’ initially drew an audience and then the puzzle masters from Moonen did their shuffle. “It was a good laugh and encouraged more show visitors to come and see Bijoux,” concludes Bilterijst. “The Caribbean series ultimately revolves around optimising owners’ fun on the water and our appearance in Monaco captured that spirit very well.”
