Gulf Craft Selects Phuket for Launches

Gulf Craft, one of the world’s leading superyacht-building shipyards, will be highlighting its support for Asia’s maritime industry at PIMEX, the Phuket International Boat Show, where the company will showcase its line-up of luxury yachts and boats for the 12th consecutive year.

One of the most anticipated boat shows in Asia, PIMEX offers an idyllic backdrop for boat manufacturers, owners, and enthusiasts to engage and interact, drawing some of the largest and most impressive vessels to Phuket’s panoramic coastline, and attracting more than 3,800 visitors last year. This year’s event runs from Thursday January 8 to Sunday January 11.

“PIMEX is one of Asia’s premier boat shows, both in terms of how well it is produced and how well it succeeds in attracting top caliber attendees,” said Erwin Bamps, CEO of Gulf Craft. “For Gulf Craft, our participation in the event is pivotal to bringing our line-up of luxury vessels to the forefront of Thailand’s increasingly affluent boating community, and to being an active participant in Asia’s thriving maritime industry.”

The number of ultra-high net worth individuals in Thailand grew by a remarkable 147 percent between 2003 and 2013, according to The Wealth Report 2014 by global real estate consultants Knight Frank, and is expected to grow another 52 percent by 2023, offering a promising outlook for the country’s yacht market.

Gulf Craft will showcase its most recent line-up of luxury vessels at PIMEX, supported by local authorized dealer, Go Boating Thailand.

Gulf Craft will also use the event to regionally launch the latest models of the Oryx, a brand of high-performance sport yachts and cruisers, as well as Majesty Yachts, the company’s line of luxury fly-bridge yachts and superyachts.

The Oryx 42, scheduled to be on display at PIMEX, offers spacious lounging areas both above and below deck, with sleeping capacity for up to four people. Built for luxury and comfort, and with an eye for detail and a dedication to excellent craftsmanship, the Oryx brand is well-respected in Asia already, paving the way for the regional launch of the Oryx 42 in Phuket this week.

Additionally, and even more highly anticipated, is the Asian launch of the Gulf Craft Majesty 48 – the new, luxury, fly-bridge motor yacht. With an unprecedented amount of topside deck for passenger enjoyment, the Majesty 48, at more than 48 feet in length, is ideal for families to comfortably entertain more than a dozen persons from its viewing decks, and even more inside the cabin, with its large windows. This yacht has been designed expressly for leisure cruising, making it the perfect choice for those interested in island-hopping while taking in the sweeping views of the stunning, azure blue Andaman Sea from the spacious and luxurious fly-bridge.

At PIMEX, Gulf Craft will also be featuring the latest models of the Silvercraft, its brand of center console fishing boats and family cruisers. Built for fishing, coastal or in open sea, the Silvercraft 36 HT is robust and easy to handle, keeping the owner protected from the sun and rain.

Gulf Craft, based in the United Arab Emirates, is investing USD 100 million over the next five years in developing a world-class facility for the manufacturing of mega and superyachts at Dubai Maritime City.
