Zuccon international project: launched cloud 9, the new 74 meters designed by the studio for CRN shipyard
CLOUD 9 was launched this past January, Saturday 21st, at CRN shipyard in Ancona. Zuccon International Project designed the 74-meter custom superyacht exclusively for the shipyard.
The Study developed the technical aspects for this project, commissioned by an experienced superyacht owner, in collaboration with CRN technical department, in addiction to the external lines design.
CLOUD 9 is a 5 decks yacht characterized by impressive volumes, nevertheless the overall impression is of great dynamism. Zuccon architects, in fact, have developed a system of very balanced lines and surfaces, which gives the 74 meters a sleek and streamlined look: as they moves upwards, the superstructure’ surfaces gradually tilts inward, so to create a perception of lighter volumes. Such system has proved so effective that it has been proposed once again in the Study’s new project for 79-meter superyachts, already under construction at CRN shipyard.
Quite peculiar is the relationship between external and internal spaces, designed by Winch Design. The collaboration between Zuccon and Andy Winch result in a perfect balance between the external lines and interiors. “We are particularly pleased with the work we have done with Andy Winch” highlighted architect Gianni Zuccon “since in his project for the internal areas he managed to maintain a close unity with the superstructure design; CLOUD 9 indeed displays a great uniformity between superstructure and interior. ” In fact, thanks to design solutions that allows an interpenetration of the spaces, the overall layout is very smooth, giving the idea of great fluidity and flexibility.
CLOUD 9 can welcome on board up to 16 guests, in six VIP cabin plus the owner apartment (in addition to 22 crew members in 13 cabins plus berths for 4 staff in two cabins). At their disposal exclusive and elegant external areas, such as the private deck, forward the master cabin, and the extensive beach club with an extended platform, designed to offer the maximum livability and maintain a close contact with the surrounding environment.
“I remember realizing, right after the launch, how much the aesthetic impact of the new 74 meters was in fact much stronger than we could have realized in the beginning” added Gianni Zuccon” and I think this is one of the greatest compliments a yacht can receive”.
Zuccon International Project and Ferretti Group continues their collaboration: besides the 74 meters CLOUD 9 and the new 79 meters project, designed for CRN, in the forthcoming months of 2017 at least two other projects designed by the Study for the Group’ shipyards will be presented.
