“WHAT’S LEFT”: A UNIQUE EXPEDITION LED BY SUNREEF AMBASSADOR MIKE HORN
Mike Horn’s expedition, named “What’s Left”, is carried out onboard Pangaea – a
sailing explorer yacht recently refitted by Sunreef Yachts. The aim of the expedition
is to return to selected destinations after a couple of decades to assess the impact
of environmental changes in these areas.
The Sunreef Yachts team joined Mike Horn in Monaco for the inauguration of the
expedition. On Wednesday 3rd of May at 4:49pm the Swiss-South African Mike Horn cast
off aboard his ice-breaker sailing boat Pangaea from the Yacht Club de Monaco’s marina
to begin a four—year adventure.
The journey’s itinerary begins with a trip to the Greenland and Arctic, followed by visits to
the Amazon, Patagonia and Antarctica. Exploring North Siberia and Alaska will allow the
team to complete comprehensive global research.
The refit of Pangaea aimed at making the yacht safer and more comfortable. The refit
included the addition of two double cabins, interior renovation, lighting, soundproofing
and enhancing the energy efficiency on board.
Horn’s work with Sunreef Yachts and the Sunreef Explorer range reflects his lifelong
commitment to adventure, exploration, and environmental conservation. He has spent
decades traveling the world’s most remote and inaccessible locations and is now inspiring
Sunreef customers and followers to pursue their exploration ambitions.
