VENICE BOAT SHOW 2025: A GROWING INTERNATIONAL SHOWCASE

The Venice Boat Show is establishing itself as one of the most prestigious appointments in the international nautical panorama, strengthening its role as a stage for excellence year after year. Vela Spa, the company organizing the Boat Show on behalf of the Municipality of Venice and in collaboration with the Italian Navy, is working to deliver an event that highlights industry innovations and trends and, at the same time, enhances also the work and expertise of the entire naval sector. A sector that is looking to the future and continues to innovate and invest in all segments, from large nautical groups to local artisans and tradespeople.

This year’s edition, which will take place from May 29th to June 2nd in the old Arsenale in Venice, presents a rich program of new developments, including 15 world premieres across all market segments, from superyachts to more compact vessels.  There will be new designs, and it will be possible to appreciate the fusion of style and function between the motor and sailing segments, without forgetting the catamarans, which represent new conceptual evolutions in terms of onboard liveability. The Venice Boat Show confirms its role as a catalyst for the transition toward sustainable yachting, hosting increasingly reliable and technologically advanced vessels, along with leading companies specialized in the production and distribution of hydrogen for the industry.

Since its inception, the Venice Boat Show has looked towards the East, towards the route that made Venice rich and that remains a thriving market. This year even more thanks to the involvement and presence of the show in Expo 2025 Osaka.

As always, the Boat Show will have a special focus on electric or hybrid propulsion for boats from 6 to 50 metres, with innovations covering traditional, electric and hydrogen engines. The Show confirms its role as a catalyst for the transition toward sustainable yachting, hosting increasingly reliable and technologically advanced vessels, along with leading companies specializing in the production and distribution of hydrogen for the industry. On the motor yacht side, the flagship of the event will be the 50-metre Almax, built by Sanlorenzo, a vessel that takes an important step towards sustainability, with Venice as its capital, while, on the sail side, the flagship will be the Sunreef 80,  an all-around luxury sailing catamaran realised by a  shipyard attending  the Venice Boat Show for the first time, confirming the international importance of the show.

One of the key highlights is the significant growth of the RIB and day cruiser segment, featuring top-tier Italian manufacturers alongside leading European shipyards, showcasing increasingly refined and innovative production. An important presence is also the Wood Village, the area celebrating the craftsmanship of master shipwrights, featuring an extraordinary exhibition of wooden motorboats that pay tribute to high-level artisanal expertise and maritime tradition.

Sailing enthusiasts will also find a vast selection of sailing boats and catamarans both sail and motor-powered, many of which feature hybrid or fully electric technologies. These models reflect a growing trend towards sustainability and enhanced onboard liveability, redefining the boating experience.

Finally, the Show will dedicate significant space to water sports and leisure activities, featuring live demonstrations and innovative products such as surf foil pads, designed for dynamic and adventure-seeking enthusiasts.

The Venice Boat Show at his 6th edition reaffirms itself as a leading event, celebrating the excellence of the naval industry while promoting a dialogue between tradition, innovation, and sustainability, all set against the unparalleled backdrop of Venice.
