With meticulous progress in both exterior and interior outfitting, CRN’s dedication to quality, commitment and innovation ensures the creation of an exceptional, one-of-a-kind vessel.

An epitome of bespoke, cutting-edge innovation, naval engineering and refined Italian craftsmanship, CRN is building the vessel CRN M/Y 145 Project Thunderball that is progressing with remarkable speed and striding towards the final phases of the construction. The hull and superstructure carpentry have been fully completed, marking a significant stage in the construction of this bespoke 70-metre steel and aluminium displacement superyacht. Launch and delivery is scheduled in 2026.

This 70-metre steel and aluminium superyacht is fully custom and handcrafted in her design, naval architecture and construction, combining CRN and Ferretti Group Superyachts Division shipyard’s vessel design, engineering expertise, build quality and know-how, with the experience of Dutch design studio Vripack Yacht Design – which developed the exterior design, the preliminary naval architecture and preliminary general arrangement – and the creativity of the Nauta Design studio, for the interior design and outdoor social areas. Throughout the design development phase, the shipbuilder was responsible for engineering, finalizing the naval architecture and overall general arrangement, as well as managing the project until the delivery of the vessel.

Y.CO, which is acting as the owner’s representative and project management team, will support the owner with technical expertise and detailed oversight throughout the construction phase, liaising with the shipyard in the coordination of external contractors and managing inspections, supervision, and acceptance processes to ensure the project progresses to the highest standards and remains aligned with the owner’s vision.

The yacht features a classic elongated bow, a sleek profile, and graceful, sailboat-inspired lines, complemented by gently curved bilges and a seamless surface. The overall design prioritizes exceptional cruising efficiency and effortless manoeuvrability for a smooth sailing experience. The interior design concept by Nauta Design transcends trends and time, reflecting a deep connection to maritime culture. It showcases a sophisticated blend of timeless details, merging heritage with a modern, refined aesthetic that reinterprets these elements from a contemporary lifestyle perspective.

Exterior outfitting progress summer 2025 will mark a pivotal moment for the exterior of M/Y 145 Project Thunderball, as the fairing phase will reach completion by the end of the summer. Work continues to advance steadily across all the decks with fitting operations and on-board systems installation progressing with precision. The meticulous craftsmanship extends to the yacht’s structural elements, with the installation of metal
decorative components nearly completed. Meanwhile, the design and fabrication of the wooden exterior
fixtures are in full swing, requiring exceptional attention to detail. Full hull painting is scheduled to begin in September 2025, following the priming and fairing processes, in line with the construction timeline.

Interior milestones According to yacht’s construction timeline, interior compartimentation has been completed in April, with the installation of structural furniture for the guest and crew lower deck to commence by summer. The owner’s Deck VIP areas are also advancing at a steady pace, with the first fully finished cabins expected to be installed between June and July. Inspections of completed cabin sections are already underway to ensure that the highest standards of craftsmanship are met.

On the main deck, insulation work in key areas such as the main saloon and wheelhouse has been completed, with compartimentation currently ongoing.

A key milestone in the interior outfitting process will be the installation of initial furniture pieces on board, anticipated between late spring and early summer. This marks a transformative phase, where the yacht’s unique ambiance will begin to take shape, showcasing refined woodwork, luxurious finishes, and bespoke detailing according to the owner’s vision and requests.

As CRN M/Y 145 continues to progress according to schedule, the dedication of the shipyard’s project management team and creativity of both Vripack and Nauta teams, alongside the meticulous oversight of Y.CO as the owner’s representative, ensures the highest standards of quality, innovation, and bespoke craftsmanship, working also with a selected group of international subcontractors at the top of the yachting industry supply chain. This exceptional vessel remains on course to set a new benchmark in luxury yachting, offering its owner a truly distinctive and refined seafaring experience.

In addition, with this superyacht, the shipyard continues its commitment to sustainable yacht design, focusing on the development of energy recovery solutions and the precise sizing of the vessel’s equipment. This fully customized megayacht is equipped with a peak shaving system to enhance energy efficiency and significantly reduce fuel consumption. This system optimizes onboard power management, enabling seamless control of utilities and allowing for silent mode operation while at anchor. Aligned with the latest advancements in sustainability, it significantly enhances energy efficiency and reduces overall consumption.

Project Thunderball has developed the layout in 5 decks, a length overall of 70 metres with a beam of 11 metres and 1,100 GT. She can accommodate up to 12 guests in 1 owner suite and 5 VIP cabins, as well as 15 crew in 9 cabins of exceptional comfort. Performance-wise, the yacht is equipped with MAN V12-1213kW engines, providing her with a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.

The vessel design, engineering and construction capabilities of CRN together with the design quality of Vripack and Nauta, paired with the teams’ profound ability to listen and adapt to the client’s vision, exemplify the brand’s unique value: the culture of bespoke. This commitment is reflected not only in the stunning yachts that CRN creates but also in the meticulous processes and personalized experiences that define every owner interaction. Each element of the brand’s identity embodies this dedication to customization and excellence.
