Sale of the 12th unit of Mangusta 165
An impressive track record per OvermarineMangusta as it announces the sale of the twelfth unit of the Mangusta 165 series today. A hugely successful order book that tells the story of a fast, highly, unique, comfortable 50 metre yacht which has become a clear reference point for the market. The yacht will be delivered in Europe.
Francesco Frediani, Group Commercial Director is very satisfied indeed, commenting that “Over the past few years we have established ourselves more and more as a leader in our sector, namely that of large, open semi-custom yachts. Our Clients tell us this, as they continue to choose our models, as does the market which values our professionalism and understands our quality and the technical choices we make, acknowledging us a leader. The excellent reputation we enjoy today also tells us this, the same reputation the Balducci family, sole owner of the Overmarine Group, has been building up over the years. Mangusta 165 has undoubtedly contributed to this result, turning the Mangusta brand into an out and out icon”.
Mangusta 165 E hull number 12, in which E stands for Evolution, the name given to the current model, contains all recent style and technical innovations: she features more muscular, aggressive lines, a single window at the height of the salon which offers excellent visibility from the inside letting in copious amounts of natural light, and a longer flybridge with an aesthetic grill astern which gives the yacht an even greater dynamic boost.
The propulsion package provides for 4×2600 HP MTU 16V2000 M94 engines, 4 Rolls Royce/Kamewa NP waterjets and 4 Seakeeperstabilisers: a better weight/power ratio, modular functionality on demand, optimised spaces in the engine room and greater efficiency, which all translate into a better performance and greater yield. The performance is similar to that of the past, but consumption is considerably lower. The effectiveness of the stabilisation system is so great during cruising too that the yacht can be used in displacement mode at a minimum speed of 8-10 knots and in total comfort at all times. This greatly expands the range of speeds at which she can be used.
There is also a range of new technological gadgets onboard like the dynamic positioning, which makes it possible to keep the yacht still in a selected GPS position without dropping anchor. This is achieved by acting on the effect of the tide, the wind and the current simply by combining direction and propulsion. The interiors, as on all Mangusta yachts, are custom-built and the Group’s Artistic Office has already set to work with the Owner to decide the layout, furnishings and décor. The yacht will be ready in 2017.
