Porto Montenegro hosts 5th superwine festival

Porto Montenegro, a multiple award winning luxury yacht home port and marina village based in Tivat in the heart of the UNESCO protected Boka Bay, has again become the stage for SuperWine festival. The 5th edition of the most prestigious wine show in South–East Europe took place at the luxurious Porto Montenegro Yacht Club Pool.

SuperWine is a unique combination of a wine salon and an atmosphere of a two-day summer party in an extravagant environment, with a spectacular accompanying program. It has brought together breath taking sea-view into perfect harmony with delicious food, live music and, of course, wine tasting.

SuperWine 5.0 has been staged at the heart of the summer season. The event has hosted top European wineries:  Bertani, Krgović, Movia, Fantinel, Jean Durup, Piper Heidsieck, ArnaldoCaprai, to name just some of the “big ones”. The programme also featured Lepa Couture fashion show, DJ sets, and exclusive food corners.

Having hosted SuperWine again, Porto Montenegro has confirmed its reputation as one of the most exclusive places on the Adriatics coast, which is a superb fit for all tastes from fine dining to comfort food and from wine amateurs to connoisseurs. Porto Montenegro also serves as the perfect base for those who love wine culture and eager to get to know new and exciting vignerons.  A hic wine bar Crush Wine Station is situated on the marina’s Jetty 1 overlooking superyachts. It features a carefully selected collection of regional favourites, undiscovered labels, as well as cult classics from around of the world. Operator of Crush Wine Station, Berba, offers tax-free champagne, wine and spirits.

There are a number of sophisticated wineries within a short ride from the marina. Plantaze is one of the largest and famous producers. The vineyard is situated on a plateau with a special micro climate. Local red Vranac variety covers two thirds of the field and the white varieties are led by Krstač, grown exclusively in Montenegro.

BOUTIQUE WINE YARDS DEVELOPEMENT IN MONTENEGRO

Boutique wine making is also well developed in the region. Zoran and GordanaObradovic run a small but gorgeous Castel Savina in Herzeg Novi at the entrance to Kotor Bay, on the opposite side of the bay from Porto Montenegro. They have two hectares of land with international grape varietals (Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, and Chardonnay) and one indigenous white varietal, Žižak(zhizhak).  The vineyards are located in the best part of the estate, with southern exposition, with a spectacular view over the sea.

Wine and food lovers can also enjoy the 5-star Regent Porto Montenegro’s special off-season package that offers the perfect gourmet experience. Nightlife is also well developed at Porto Montenegro.
