Panerai collaborates with Beirut art week 2017
Officine Panerai, the Florentine House of haute horology, proudly announces its participation at the Beirut Art Week 2017 and opens its doors to artistic expression through a unique collaboration with renowned Armenian artist, MkritchMazmanian.
MkritchMazmanain, popularly known as Mazmanian, is one of Armenia’s best-known figurative sculptors. His spatial sculptures, in bronze and marble, have been described as ‘abstract yet contain realism’. They carry intellectual inertia by showing human ambition, cultivation, awakening, and evolution. Most of Mazmanian’s work draws inspiration from nature and human cultures. His latest collection of sculptures is entitled “The Middle Eastern Woman”: a new style featuring turning, bending and stretching women’s figurative silhouettes.
Mazmanina has held exhibitions across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Russia. He was honored with “The Republic of Armenia’s Medal” for his major contribution to art in his country. He is a winner of Art Expo New York (2017) as Best Sculpture Award and an award winner of BIAF (Beirut International Art festival) 2017.
Consistently evolving to be a pioneer in the art and design realm, the convergence of Panerai and Mazamnian for Beirut Art Week 2017, further cement the brand’s relation to design and close collaboration to successful artists with unique flairs.
Commenting on the collaboration, Milvin George, Managing Director of Officine Panerai – Middle East & India said, “BAW synergizes the art, culture and heritage in Lebanon offering artists and creators a platform to cultivate and showcase their extraordinary talents to the world. For the fourth consecutive year, this successful event will further emphasize our continuous commitment to the field of design; it is the perfect opportunity to promote the art of watchmaking and engage with the region’s art enthusiasts.”
“We are extremely proud of this ongoing successful association with BAW and thrilled to partner with Mazmanian for this week to display and showcase his collection of figurative sculptures outside our boutique,” he concluded.
The 2017 BAW edition is scheduled to welcome artists, designers, collectors, merchants, global brands as well as public art connoisseurs from September 19th to 26th at Solidere Downtown Beirut. Annually, Beirut Art Week (part of Beirut Art Fair) is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Beirut Municipality and Solidere with an aim to showcase around twenty interactive projects combining installations, sculptures, and performances from celebrated artists across famous landmarks around B-Town.
