YARE DIGITAL 2020: THE PROGRAM OF THE SUPERYACHT CAPTAINS FORUM
Moderators and topics of the in-depth market analysis about the yachting industry. On line, web and app, on 26th and 27th November.
Launching tomorrow, YARE (Yachting Aftersales and Refit Experience), the business event dedicated to networking between Superyacht Captains and the yachting industry which, on its 10th Edition, offers a totally digital program made of analysis, focus, workshops, business meetings, following a preview of the program of The Superyacht Captains’ Forum, co-organized by The Superyacht Group International media partner and NAVIGO center for innovation and development of the yachting industry.
For every workshop, a panel of experts, managers, captains, journalists and influencers will discuss on the current situation, affected by the Covid 19 pandemic, all the actions and points to be undertaken in the next years on refit and aftersales services following trends and innovation.
YARE will openon Thursday 26th November (from 10amCET) with the Forum “State of the Market – The Future is Bright?”Led by Martin H.Redmayne, it offers a precise view on the future of leisure boating industry focusing on a forecast of the next generation of yachting builders and suppliers also referring to Covid-19.
The workshop “Managing the Owners Expectations”(26th November 11amCET), focuses on the management and organization of the custode satisfaction (private or charter) for both refit and new building projects and how he could be involved in the experience. Following some of the panelists who will discuss about the philosophy and the importance of a tailor made approach, also they will analyse what has occured in the industry for pre-owned/purchase and refit during Covid-19: Vincenzo Poerio, Chairman of YARE and CEO of Tankoa Yachts; Christophe Ceard, Vice-Chairmanof APSA (Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association)and Managing Director of Swiss Ocean Yacht Management; Florence Xing, Director of Parkview Private Collection and independent broker at TWW Yachts; Richard Skinner yacht manager of M/Y Nirvana; and Federico Rossi, chief operating officer of Rossinavi Shipyard in Viareggio.
The Lifestyle workshopwill follow at 1pm around the theme “what makes a yacht the epitome of luxury from aservices point of view?”, led by Monaco based luxury blogger Natalia Langsdale. She will be joined by Serena Storri,Partnership Manager Marchesi Antinori; Annalisa Tarquini, Director of the Luxury Management program at the International University of Monaco; Alessandro Quintavalle of Thomas Mercer Chronometers;CaptainSean Meagherand Vanessa Bockmann, of Crew Privilege.
“The Life Cycle of Paint”(26th November, 2pm) focuses on the improvements of painting and coating systems, but also on sustainable products innovations. Moderated by Ken Hickling, Director of the International Superyacht Society (ISS), the workshop will also involve leadingcompanies BoeroandJotun.
On 26th November afternoon (3pm) the workshop “Preparing for the Legal and Fiscal Landscape in 2021″will be broadcasted. A possible increase of the charter activity could happen in the Mediterranean in the short-medium term; which new fiscal and legal measures could the various countries take with reference to the yachting industry? Superyacht consultant John Leonida will discuss tax issues with an international panel of distinguished experts in the field: Ezio Vannucci, fiscal consultant of Confindustria Nautica and Founder of SOS Yachting;Miguel Angel Serra,solicitor and economist, legal and fiscal consultant of the Spanish Boating Industry Association(ANEN); Thierry Voisin,fiscal consultant, Chairman of ECPY (European Committee for Professional Yachting); and Alison Vassallo, partner of Fenech & Fenech Advocates, Chairperson of the Yachting Trade Section within the Malta Chamber of Commerce.
Scheduled on Friday 27th November at 12:00, the workshop “The Digital Threat – Cyber Security”will addressthe digital threat, IT security and the new measures for the yachting industry, according to UNand International Maritime Organization guidelines on this matter. Among the panelists taking part: Lorenzo Pollicardo Technical Director at SYBAss, Matthew Roberts from Riela Group and Iannis Maroulis from ABS.
On 27th November afternoon (2pm) “Superyachts – How Green can we be..?”Sustainability, green economy, eco-awareness are all topics thatshould be included in every government and company agenda, buthow to apply this approach to yachting? ModeratorMartin H. Redmaynewill be joined by expert panelists Robert Van Tol from theWater Revolution Foundation, Julien Mélot, entrepreneur, naval architect and engineer specialised in sustainable naval projects; andJesper Steenbuch fromExilator.
At 3pm (27th November), “Refit – The Value of a Good Plan”, will focus on how important an organized and efficient project plan is to avoid penalties, delays and damages. The panelistsaddressing the refit planning issues will be Alberto Perrone Da Zara for Lürssen, Fortunato Di Marco for Lusben refit, Tanguy Ducros for Monaco Marine Group and Captain Malcolm Jacotine.
