MY Freedom when yachting meets fashion by CCN
Freedom is the third model in the Fuoriserie range, CCN’s line of fully – custom projects, and she is the outcome of a brilliant concept that fashion designer Roberto Cavalli developed and turned into reality in cooperation with architect Tommaso Spadolini.
Both the exterior profile and the interior layout reflect the strong personality of the Owner, who asked for a yacht enhancing maximum contact with the sea while also ensuring the utmost privacy.
The final result is a 28 m all aluminum yacht with aggressive lines, low on the water, plenty of volume, high speed and a nice flybridge.
The planing hull of M/Y Freedom, whose design ensures stability, seaworthiness and efficiency in all weather conditions, was developed to comply with the generous beam required by the GA, but limited to a length of 28m (in compliance with ISO standards), which has been exploited to the fullest to maximize the bearing area and achieve a staggering top speed of 42 knots thanks to a trio of Rolls-Royce water-jet and three MAN diesel engines.
As to the interior layout, the challenge was to maximize the contact with the sea while ensuring uncompromised privacy. A mandatory key feature was a very comfortable space, with just a few steps and staircase. To meet this requirement, the whole main deck area (full-beam owner’s cabin/ main lounge cockpit/ wheelhouse) has been developed at the same level, with 4 gentle slope steps only. This innovative concept offers an unusual living space, where the beach area and the main lounge work together as a continuous space close to the water. With the side doors and curtain closed, the main lounge has all the comfort of an inside space.
On the main deck, the master cabin, designed to confer visual continuity with the outside main lounge, allows constant sea-view, natural light and air ventilation thanks to 4 large openable windows and a central skylight.
Interior decoration has been personally created by Roberto Cavalli, who selected fabric and leather finishes, as well as furniture and accessories; the interior also reflect the Owner’s passion for photography, as bulkheads are covered by photos he took himself during his travels. From the master’s cabin it is possible to access directly to the flydeck or to the wheelhouse – as the Owner intends to drive the yacht by himself.
From the main lounge, a comfortable stairway access leads directly to a full beam homelike galley characterized by spacious topwork, large fridge/freezer, tv and audio systems. Accommodation for 2+2 guests is provided on the lower deck. Here, like on the master cabin, the furniture has been customized with details and material coming from the Roberto Cavalli Home collection. A colorful mix of animalier patterns meets the naturalistic inspired metalworks of the handles and decorative elements, creating a unique environment and conferring a glam-chic appeal to the interior.
