FINALI MONDIALI: FERRARI AND HUBLOT UNITE TO CELEBRATE A COLOURFUL RACING SEASON
The Mugello racetrack in Tuscany played host to the Finali Mondiali. This was another perfect opportunity for Hublot and Ferrari to celebrate their partnership, which was established in 2011. As the last event in the Ferrari calendar, the Finali Mondiali closes the 2019 Ferrari Racing world championship, including the Ferrari Challenge, and the XX and F1 Clienti Programmes. Hublot is proud to be associated with this event since 2012.
” An electric atmosphere, filled with passion. Something our friends from across the Alps are experts at creating! This year, the Ferrari Finali Mondiali had a noticeably festive air to mark the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari. Hublot was proud to join the celebrations, to recognize the eight fantastic years it has worked alongside the Prancing Horse.”- Ricardo Guadalupe CEO of HUBLOT
This year, as every year, numerous Ferrari road cars, racing cars, and premier class F1 Clienti cars took to the track, supported by legions of tifosi, the passionate fans of the iconic Italian brand with its headquarters in Maranello. During this major event, which draws vehicles from across three continents, spectators were able to admire the features of the XX and F1 models affiliated with the Corse Clienti programme.
It was a huge celebration which Hublot, official partner of the legendary Prancing Horse, helped mark in a number of ways. Firstly, on the track, where the famous safety car with its flashing warning lights was resplendent in Hublot colours. This event also provided the Swiss Watch Brand with an opportunity to give its guests a closer look at its Classic Fusion Ferrari GT watch, a spectacular horological creation made possible thanks to its partnership with Ferrari.
Unique in its genre, the Classic Fusion Ferrari GT was designed by Flavio Manzoni, director of the “Centro Stile Ferrari”, the prestigious design office at the heart of Ferrari. It is an instantly striking piece: it is equipped with a 45-mm “double” case which appears to float above the wrist thanks to its attachment using six Hublot screws. With breathtaking finesse, it houses a Unico calibre HUB1281 manufacture movement, and a flyback chronograph with column wheel visible on the dial side. It is available in a choice of three materials: titanium, King Gold and 3D Carbon. Used here for the first time on a watch, this polymer matrix composite (PMC) with three-dimensional woven fibre reinforcement is well-known in the motor racing industry for its hard-wearing, lightweight properties.
Another star that guests to the Finali Mondiali were able to admire was the Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Unico, another watch born of the partnership between the Swiss watchmaker and the Italian constructor, with the King Gold and Titanium versions on show. Constructed with the signature “sandwich” technique used on Big Bang models, its case – 45 mm in diameter – features the Ferrari inscription. It protects the famous Unico manufacture movement, Hublot’s proprietary mechanism equipped with a flyback chronograph with a column wheel visible and positioned on the dial side. The minute counter set at 3 o’clock on this dial is designed to resemble a rev counter, and the date window is inspired by a gear selector.
