DutchCraft delivers first new customized DC56 Cabin in South Florida
DutchCraft has finalized another successful project. The young and promising Dutch shipyard has recently delivered a new DC56 Cabin yacht to US owners.
“My family shares my love for boating and my wife and I decided to build our dream boat with DutchCraft,”said Matt Kutcher, owner of the new DC56 Cabin.” I have always loved being out on the water. My first boat was a 12’ aluminum flat bottom with a small outboard; the only thing custom on that boat was the Vans skate sticker covering the ding in the side of it!”
The yacht’s name Go-N-Hot refers to Matt Kutcher’s company which produced many award-winning special effects for Hollywood films, television shows and music videos.
“I say “going hot” on set to let everyone know an explosion is about to happen! ” explained Matt.
Perfect combination
Matt recalls he was impressed when he first saw the DC56 Cabin, the way the shape follows the function with the complete utilitarian design and beautiful overall lines. His wife Lisa agreed and focused on the sophisticated layout and interior solutions.
“Although my husband loved the exterior layout, I found the inside to be beautiful and spacious,” commented Lisa Kutcher.”I was very impressed with the amount of living space in the salon and staterooms. We were both pleasantly surprised that not only there were three abundant staterooms, but a full captain’s quarters with a head.”
Go-N-Hot has a lot to offer for the owners and their guests. A jet ski is stored on the bow, the yacht has five rod holders behind the main dinette and six more in the aft, paddle board storage on flybridge and a diving compressor on port side with 8-meter hose to fill in diving bottles which are stored on star board.
“The personal attention from Sietse Koopmans, the owner of DutchCraft, and his ability not only to listen to my many ideas, but also to help us incorporate these ideas; such as dive compressors, additional bottle storage, built in tackle boxes and fishing pole holders, sea bob charging stations, carbon fiber davit crane to launch the jet ski from the bow, as well as SUP racks and many other custom features,” explained Matt Kutcher.
The yacht is equipped with a pair of Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines. The maximum speed is over 32 knots in comfort with minimal turbulence, thanks to the high-performance composite hull designed and engineered by Dutch Craft’s in-house expert team. The range of up to 840nmis also impressive and guarantees several days of autonomous exploration. The DC56 Cabin runs smoothly thanks to Humphree stabilizers and trim tabs. There is also a Volvo dynamic positioning system for operational assistance.
The shipyard implemented several customized solutions inside as well.
“The above additions were my husband’s requests, mine was the custom vanity area with extra lighting, mirrors and outlets in the master stateroom. We both couldn’t be happier with [our project manager] Sebastiaan and his assistance in making sure the yacht was perfect in the end!” stated Lisa Kutcher.
Ready to explore
The owners plan to extensively use their dream yacht with family and friends to cruise around the islands, fishing, paddling, snorkeling, diving, sunbathing, and dining in a very comfortable but elegant “makes sense” yacht-the flexible all around DC56 allows all that. The boat is available for charter as well.
“We will make the boat available for charter to share our love of all things in and on the water with others,” concludes Matt
