Dehler 34 Launch

30 years ago Dehler has developed the Dehler 34, a yacht with which Dehler quickly achieved recognition as a global player in the yacht world. With more than 1300 yachts built, it was the beginning of a new era for the company.

The Dehler 34 has shaped the company’s DNA and revolutionized the global yacht market with the first real Performance Cruiser. The clever combination of sportiness and cruising, convinced customers and the Dehler 34 quickly achieved cult status.

So how could we celebrate the 30th anniversary of this legend better than to revive the Dehler 34? We would therefore like to present you our newest creation: a modern yacht with fast lines and confident appearance: The new Dehler 34!

The yacht was designed by the renowned yacht designer judel / vrolijk& co, who are known for fast and agile yachts with modern design. As with all Dehler yachts, the sporty sailing characteristics are playing a pivotal role. The steep stem in combination with the short overhang in stern creates a long water line and allows maximum speeds.

Karl Dehler, chief developer of Dehler is clearly excited about the new yacht: “The new Dehler 34 is a masterpiece. She was developed as a luxurious performance cruiser – with an incredible amount of space, headroom and tank volume. Performance oriented sailors can upgrade the 34 with everything – and I mean absolutely everything – that leads to more performance. Even the standard version of the Dehler is reinforced with the Dehler Carbon Cage – creating the perfect foundation for further upgrades. Translated, this yacht innovation in series production means: The Carbon Cage provides 20% more rigidity and thus enables better upwind sailing performance. If you want a quick cruiser or even a competitive regatta yacht, the Dehler 34 can be whatever you want her to be.”

In the exterior design, the new Dehler 34 impresses with sportive and elegant lines that correspond to the modern look of the larger Dehler yachts. Two slim, tapered side windows give the yacht a streamlined touch and enable a bright interior. The low and wide cockpit enhances the sporty look and offers plenty of space for a pleasant breakfast with the family in the port or for the crew during active sailing on the sea.

But a Dehler is not only characterized by her good sailing performance, she must also meet the high

cruising requirements in every respect. The interior of the new Dehler 34 convinces with two large cabinsand a comfortable head, which is equipped with our innovative Uni-Door Concept. Uni-Door – means one door separating three areas, which provides maximum privacy on limited space. The salon offers two comfortable sofas, a spacious L-pantry and a navigation table. In the bow the customer can choose between two layout variations. In standard, the Dehler 34 has a closed bow with a door, the option is an open bulkhead, which creates more special depth. Those who want to make their Dehler 34 lighter can order lightweight furniture for the bow and aft cabin.

The round and harmonious shapes are combined with an elegant finish, creating a modern-designed interior.

The new Dehler 34 also convinces with her diversity: The standard version comes with a well-balanced aluminium rig with a sail area (mainsail and jib) of 65 m². As an option, Dehler offers a higher rig in aluminium or carbon for more performance. The carbon mast is 73 cm higher than the standard rig and measures a sail area of 71 m². In addition, the Dehler 34 can be fitted with all kinds of extras, such as a bathing platform and a fixed bow sprit, with which the new Dehler 34 can be configured to the exact needs of the customer.

The Dehler 34 has an overall length of 10.70 m, a waterline length of 9.60 m and a width of 3.60 m. Three keel types are available: A Competition T-keel with 2.10 m and two L-shaped keels with 1.95 m and 1.55 m draft. The yacht can be fitted with a tiller steering or alternatively with two steering wheels. In the standard version, the Dehler 34 is powered by a Volvo Penta 18 hp (13,3kW) with sail-drive.

The base price of the new Dehler 34 is € 108.500,00, – net. The completion of the first boat is scheduled for August 2016!
