ADMIRAL SAIL
ADMIRAL SAIL – WAVE 38M BY PHILIPPE BRIAND SOLD
Admiral Sail, a brand of The Italian Sea Group, is delighted to announce the sale of the first 38 meter sailing superyacht “Wave”
Designed by Philippe Briand and sold in an in-house deal in early September, Wave 38 will be the first Admiral Sail yacht entirely built in aluminium and will follow the delivery of the 76’ Admiral Sail “Gigreca, delivered in 2014 and on display at the Monaco Yacht Show 2015.
Started in 2013 Admiral Sail is the Sail Division of the Admiral brand established in 1966.
Chairman of the Group and passionate sailor, Giovanni Costantino, states that “this new build will certainly bring a new soul in this market”.
Francesco Carbone, Vice Chairman and Sales Director, says “this sale clearly marks the focus of the Italian Sea Group on sailing superyachts which remain a niche but with interesting potential we cannot ignore”.
The yacht is now under full engineering and will feature carbon rig, lifting keel, captive reel systems for the all sail plan and huge volumes inside, including a crew quarter designed to be LY3 compliant; the new design incorporates a big open transom with terrace, transformer system and private access to the owner cabin. On the main deck the central cockpit is lowered and almost at the same level of the main saloon; the cockpit is well protected by an integral hardtop with openings on the roof and windscreen. This area can be enclosed further with side sliding glasses, for long passages and sailing at night or with bad weather. Going forward, the deck is all flush and it hides a big garage for tenders and toys.
Below deck four guest cabins find place, one of which is convertible. The engine room is one of the biggest in this category and is located just below the deck saloon, with access from crew quarter.
The yacht will be sloop rigged with removable staysail and furling system for the downwind sails.
The Wave Series is made up by the Wave 38, 48 and a 60 meter, all designed by Philippe Briand.
Delivery of first Wave 38 is set in early 2018.
