FERRETTI GROUP EXCLUSIVELY ADOPTS “WATCHIT SENSE 360”,THE NEW GENERATION OF COLLISION-AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS COMBINING AI AND RADAR DETECTION
Four years after the introduction of WATCHIT, the anti-collision system that represented a major step forward in safety at sea, Ferretti Group announces the exclusive adoption of WATCHIT SENSE 360, the latest generation of the technology developed by Aqua Marina Tech, an Israeli company specialising in innovative, life-saving solutions for the marine industry.
The original WATCHIT system transformed onboard safety by cross-referencing digital charts with a yacht’s position and course data. Its subsequent integration with AIS (Automatic Identification System) technology expanded collision-avoidance capabilities by providing greater awareness of surrounding maritime traffic.
Now, WATCHIT SENSE 360 introduces a crucial third layer of protection: radar detection.
Integrated with the Simrad multifunction displays and HALO radar systems already installed on board, WATCHIT SENSE 360 can identify vessels, buoys, floating objects and other obstacles that may not be detected through AIS alone, including vessels without AIS equipment or those operating with their AIS switched off.
Advanced software continuously assesses potential risks, generating clear and timely visual and audible alerts only when a genuine hazard is identified. The system operates seamlessly in the background, helping the skipper and crew maintain situational awareness without unnecessary distractions.
Developed specifically for cruising yachts, WATCHIT SENSE 360 automatically adapts to changing navigation environments, whether cruising in open water, navigating congested areas or harbours, or remaining at anchor. No manual mode changes or adjustments are required.
