NEW FULLY CUSTOM 45M TANKOA SUPERYACHT TX450 LAUNCHED IN GENOA
Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has reached another significant milestone with the launch of its latest 45-metre superyacht TX450 in Genoa.
The launch ceremony brought together the Owner, his family and team, Tankoa’s management and workforce as well as the partner companies that contributed to the successful completion of this important stage of construction.
The occasion included the traditional blessing of the yacht and the customary christening by her godmother, followed by a special celebration held at the shipyard’s facilities.

A fully custom vision hailing from the Middle East, the Owner of TX450 is a highly experienced yachtsman who has previously owned several yachts. Drawing on this experience, he approached the project with a clear vision to create a sub-500GT yacht offering the volume, generous living areas and intelligent space distribution typically associated with a significantly larger vessel.
The project was developed in close collaboration between the Owner and Cassetta Yacht Designers, responsible for both the exterior and interior design. The result closely reflects the Owner’s individual requirements and intended use of the yacht.
Naval architecture was developed by Italian marine design firm NAMES, while engineering was carried out by inNave in cooperation with the Tankoa Technical Department.
Although originating from the Tankoa T450 model, TX450 has evolved into an entirely new yacht. The project is fully custom, sharing only the same designer as her predecessor.
Distinctive design and generous living spaces the interiors by Cassetta Yacht Designers were conceived specifically around the Owner’s lifestyle and how he intends to experience the yacht.
TX450 features a highly distinctive configuration, including an additional deck and a wider beam compared with her predecessor. Her extensive living spaces span the entire upper deck, while the main deck accommodates the Owner’s suite alongside the guest cabins.
The yacht can accommodate up to 10 guests across five staterooms, complemented by additional guest accommodation on the lower deck, including a convertible cabin.
Further highlights include a dedicated gym and spa area and an enclosed veranda on the bridge deck, creating additional spaces for relaxation and enjoyment on board.
The result is a highly individual yacht that demonstrates Tankoa’s boutique approach to yachtbuilding, combining customisation, craftsmanship and technical expertise.
Hybrid propulsion and zero-emission capability TX450 is equipped with a full hybrid propulsion system, combining conventional engines with electric motors and batteries. The yacht is designed to achieve a maximum speed of 15 knots at half load and a cruising speed of 14 knots.
The hybrid system provides enhanced operational flexibility, safety and redundancy while enabling zero-emission operation in full-electric mode.
The system also allows TX450 to remain at anchor overnight using battery power alone and to cruise for several hours in full-electric mode, offering a quieter and more efficient onboard experience.
Tankoa Yachts CEO Vincenzo Poerio commented: “Seeing TX450 touch the water for the first time is a rewarding milestone for everyone involved in her creation. From the very beginning, this has been a truly collaborative journey with the Owner, resulting in a yacht that is entirely bespoke and reflects a shared vision brought to life through dedication, expertise and innovation. We are immensely proud to see her enter this exciting new chapter.”
Final phase ahead of delivery following her launch, TX450 has entered the final phase of construction. Sea trials and comprehensive technical testing are now underway ahead of her delivery to the Owner.
The launch of TX450 represents another important milestone for Tankoa Yachts, showcasing the Italian shipyard’s ability to deliver highly customised superyachts that combine distinctive design, generous onboard spaces and advanced propulsion technology.
