DAMEN YACHTING LAUNCHES THIRD YACHT SUPPORT 53

The third Yacht Support in the successful Yacht Support 53 series has been launched at the Damen Yachting build facility in Antalya, fully supported by our Dutch engineering and craftsmanship. This significant milestone of the journey to date of the third yacht from the 53-metre Yacht Support range. She has been launched ahead of her final build stage, final outfitting and sea trial will occur in the next few months and she is available for delivery in summer 2025.

Bad Company Support 175 was the very first YS53. Joining the Owner’s extensive fleet of vessels, it is the operational backbone and supports a programme that covers contemporary deep-sea fishing and scientific goals alike. Five Oceans was the second YS53, purpose built for adventure, exploration and conservation.
Pim Oostra, Damen Yachting Project Manager YS 5303: “Today’s launch really reflects the fact that this latest Yacht Support design is now coming into its own as a series. We are looking forward to the final build stages as we prepare everything ready for completion this summer.”

Support with reliability and built for purpose the Yacht Support range was forged from a world of fast offshore support where reliability, sailing characteristics and unprecedented functionality have been developed to the highest level. YS53 takes that concept into the future for the next generation of yacht Owners and maritime visionaries. Damen Yachting has delivered over 20 purpose-built support yachts, all founded on the successful and proven legacy from the Damen fast support DNA. With the YS53, Damen Yachting has built a vessel for the Owner with an active and dynamic lifestyle whilst seeking capability and multifunctionality.

Designed with function and specifications the exterior design of the third YS53 continues the series striking blend of modern utility and sharp angular. The axe bow design is engineered to slice through waves with ease, reducing vertical motion for a smoother ride. The high bow and pronounced spray rails keep the deck dry, ensuring safety and comfort while protecting sensitive equipment from saltwater, even in the harshest conditions. The forward raking windows are not only a visual statement, but they also improve visibility in bad weather, minimising nighttime glare, reduce heat and increase useable space. The YS53 exterior space is so versatile, the large aft platform is built for action, whether launching tenders and toys with its 15-tonne crane, hosting events or making scientific discoveries. Interior of the accommodation allows for plenty of guests, crew, staff, or specialists on board a support vessel where interior comfort has been completely rethought, refining the layout for a smarter use of space. Top speed of 19 knots. Range of 5000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Over 200 square metres of deck space on main deck for toys/tenders and for clients to create their dream layout. Reinforced deck for Touch & Go helicopter operations.
