CANTIERE DELLE MARCHE RECENTLY DELIVERED THE RJ 115 PAZIENZA TO HER AUSTRALIAN OWNERS WHO EMBARKED FOR HER MAIDEN VOYAGE

Pazienza marks the third delivery in the RJ series of explorer yachts, following the RJ 130 Nuri and the RJ 115 Stellamar which made a notable appearance at the recent Cannes and Monaco Boat Shows and clinched the prestigious World Superyacht Award in her category. Furthermore, there is an RJ 155 in progress at the Ancona shipyard. The former Owners of Nuri, who found great satisfaction with the RJ 130 and sold it profitably, initiated the development of a larger vessel tailored to meet their extended cruising aspirations. “This is an undeniable sign of trust in CdM and a source of pride for all of us,” said Vasco Buonpensiere, CEO of Cantiere delle Marche and its co-founder with Ennio Cecchini.

“We are very pleased with the commercial results of the RJ range. It demonstrates that style and elegance can be perfectly combined with the rugged character typical of our explorer yachts. Regardless of the model or size, these boats are ideal for venturing into remote areas where assistance is scarce or even nonexisten” Buonpensiere maintains. “An increasing number of owners have realized that combining comfort and design with construction features and technical equipment that ensure safe navigation is a winning choice. We recently signed a contract for the construction of an RJ 102 commissioned by another Australian owner. The Australian market is giving us great satisfaction! We have just sold a Nauta Air 110 to Marcus Blackmore, a great Australian sailor and navigator. I can confidently say that ours are the right boats for those seas.”

The Florentine designer Francesco Paszkowski lends his creative vision to the RJ series. His signature style shines through in the sleek and sturdy bow and the expansive windows that define Pazienza’s profile. Every aspect of the design, from the subtly inset windows and portholes to the dynamic fashion plates and the graceful curvature of the stern, showcases Paszkowski’s meticulous attention to detail, enhancing the exterior aesthetics of Pazienza.

As mentioned, this is the second unit of the RJ115 model after Stellamar; however, the two yachts have some very different features. The level of customization offered by Cantiere delle Marche on its semi-custom models is indeed very high. Apart from the furnishings, which are completely different in style and layout, Pazienza has a greater number of cabins than Stellamar, openable French doors on both sides of the salon, a large aft pool on the Sun Deck, a tender garage with a side opening which adds to a retractable crane housed in the overhang of the Sun deck to haul and launch the second tender.

The furnishings, the result of close collaboration between the Paszkowski studio and the Owners, are sober and relaxing, all played on a palette of neutral colors. Beige, cream, brown, and some rare hints of blue. Walls and furniture are predominantly satin-finished stained oak, contrasting with the dark and highly polished surface of some furniture elements, paneling, small furniture, and bedside tables. The floors are made of bleached oak interspersed with large surfaces covered in cream-colored carpet. In addition to the custom-made furniture designed by Paszkowski, Pazienza’s interiors have been enriched with the introduction of a series of furnishings from well-known brands, such as Maxalto and Minotti sofas, respectively on the Main and Upper decks, Minotti Reeves armchairs in the Main deck, a Flexform dining table for 12 with a glass top surrounded by graceful Origami chairs, also from Reflex.

Upon boarding, guests have a conversation area in the cockpit, served by a bar, directly connected to the swim platform accessed via a wide staircase. On the main deck, in addition to the salon with conversation and dining areas, there are the kitchen and a spacious owner’s suite with openable windows both in the cabin and in the office. On the lower deck, there are four guest cabins, while a VIP cabin is located on the Upper Deck. A very spacious Sun Deck is equipped to allow pleasant outdoor stays.

Considerable attention has been dedicated to the most expansive outdoor area aboard Pazienza – the Sun Deck – ensuring it provides unparalleled comfort for both Owners and guests. This space transcends mere functionality, akin to the luxurious ambiance of a penthouse terrace. Here, one can relish in dining experiences, whether it’s a leisurely lunch or an intimate dinner, seated around a generously sized table sheltered by a hard-top. The outdoor kitchen, complete with a barbecue, caters to all sorts of culinary desires. Adjacent to the dining area stands a lavishly adorned bar, featuring exquisite Agate stone slabs, perfect for indulging in pre-dinner drinks. For those seeking to bask in the sun, the Sun Deck offers ample space for sunbathing, complemented by a panoramic aft pool, partially adorned with stunning Agate stone. A distinctive feature of Pazienza is the inclusion of an external helm station positioned within the Sun Deck, effectively transforming it into a fully functional Flying Bridge. This addition not only adds to the vessel’s functionality but also elevates the Sun Deck’s status as a multifaceted hub of luxury and convenience.

Descending to the Upper Deck reveals a charming panoramic lounge seamlessly connected to a spacious aft terrace, where a generously sized table invites alfresco dining experiences, sheltered by the Sun Deck’s overhang. Towards the aft section, discreetly tucked away, lies the housing for one of the two tenders, strategically positioned for easy access. This tender, deployed using a concealed crane (Sanguineti 2t) nestled within a compartment integrated into the Sun Deck’s overhang, is stored on this deck only during extended voyages.

Adjacent to this functional setup, a VIP cabin graces the Upper Deck, ensuring privileged guests enjoy comfort and privacy. This relocation of the captain’s accommodation to the Lower Deck optimizes space utilization and enhances the overall guest experience. Reflecting the hallmark style of Cantiere delle Marche, the helm station embodies functionality without compromising on elegance. While maintaining a focus on practicality, premium materials such as Penelopeoggi leathers adorn the flooring and console, adding a touch of refinement. Equipped with large Furuno-Boning screens, the helm station provides access to navigation data and comprehensive information from onboard equipment, ensuring smooth sailing and efficient operations.

The tour continues by descending another deck, climbing down the open staircase supported by a sinuous steel structure. We are on board an explorer yacht, but the design style is that of a luxury yacht, and formal sophistication is not lacking on Pazienza. On the Main Deck, the main salon unfolds as a luminous and tastefully appointed space, boasting a traditional layout encompassing lounging and dining areas. Two sofas flank large windows, flooding the salon with natural light, while openable sliding doors in the dining area enhance the panoramic views and easy circulation.

Continuing the tour, passing the lobby with a small day-head, we enter the Owner’s suite, preceded by a study and dressing room. The cabin, generously proportioned and boasting a full-beam configuration, encompasses a cozy living area with a sofa, complemented on the opposite side by a vanity/desk set against a vast openable window. The ensuite bathroom is adorned with luxurious Calacatta Grey marble countertops, epitomizing opulence and comfort.

Descending further to the Lower Deck reveals four elegantly appointed cabins, comprising three doubles and one twin with an additional pullman bed. The crew enjoys direct access to these cabins via a discreet door leading to the forwardmost double guest cabin. Adjacent to the crew area, beyond a well-appointed dinette, lie three additional crew cabins, including the captain’s quarters. Spacious and nicely furnished, these cabins ensure the comfort and efficiency of the crew throughout the voyage.

Towards the aft of the Lower Deck lies the garage, featuring an overhead crane crafted by AMS and a luxurious sauna. Opening onto the swim platform, the garage grants access to the expansive engine room forward, housing two powerful Caterpillar Cat18 engines, each boasting 533kW, along with two Kohler generators, each generating 80kW, and an array of essential equipment. Reflecting Cantiere delle Marche’s commitment to excellence, the engine room is impeccably designed, facilitating easy access to all components. Built to withstand the rigors of exploration, Pazienza surpasses expectations during sea trials, boasting an impressive autonomy figure of 5 ̇500 nautical miles at 10 knots while maintaining remarkably modest fuel consumption.
