Moonen Yachts welcomes new Marketing & Sales team ahead of the summer show season
The Moonen team is excited to announce three new team members to the Moonen Yachts family. Each joining the company following varied roles in the maritime business, Marianne Hendriks joins as Marketing Communications Manager, Maarten Hogeweg joins as Brand Ambassador, and Sytse de Vlas joins as Sales Manager. The new appointments are in line with the new company strategy, which sees the premium Dutch yard focus on expanding the reach of Moonen worldwide.
Moonen’s CEO, Johan Dubbelman, is at the helm of the brand’s new strategy, taking the lead since his appointment in October 2017. Welcoming Marianne, Maarten and Sytse, Dubbelman says: “Our focus is on new opportunities. We’re reaching out to a new clientele that is looking for a quality yacht that fits their needs perfectly, created together with an experienced and knowledgeable team. That’s why we are proud to welcome three new team members that embody the passion, service-orientated philosophy of the Moonen brand. We just launched the 36.3-metre motor yacht Brigadoon and we have a fantastic sister-ship to that project currently underway. The future is bright for Moonen, and I’m excited to take the brand into the future together with all members of the team.”
Marianne Hendriks
Marketing Communications Manager
Marianne joins the Moonen team with over 20 years of marketing and communication expertise in the maritime industry. Joining from the major systems integrator, Alewijnse Marine Systems, Marianne looks forward to bringing Moonen to the next level: “I am delighted to be a fantastic team under Johan’s great leadership. I’ve been passionate about yachting for a long time, and so to work with such a prestigious yard as Moonen is a real privilege. I will be working on developing and strengthening the positioning of Moonen as we sail into the future.”
Maarten Hogeweg
Brand Ambassador
In his new role as Brand Ambassador, Maarten will focus on Moonen’s strategy. His key focus will be on expanding brand awareness, market penetration, customer acquisition and new business development. Coming from a shipbuilding and marketing background, Maarten will rethink partnerships, looking to extend reach beyond the traditional superyacht market. “With the latest launch in the Moonen family, a new era has started,” he says. “Yachting is growing and developing, and so are our clientele. We’re seeing our clients wanting to step out of the traditional sphere of yachting and steer towards a devotion to real travel, to luxurious adventure and a new yachting lifestyle. We’ve got so many exciting things coming up to make sure we anchor ourselves in the semi-custom yacht market for generations to come, and I’m proud to be part of that movement.”
Sytse de Vlas
Sales Manager
A successful yacht broker for a number of years as well as working closely with many top Dutch shipyards, Sytse brings a wealth of valuable experience in the yacht market to the Moonen team. Working closely with Dubbelman, Sytse will focus on enhancing relationships with clients in the Moonen family, as well as ensure new markets have their eyes firmly set on the new Moonen brand. Sytse says: “This is an exciting role and I appreciate the challenge of working for such a forward thinking company. My role will include identifying potential customers and advising them about the possibilities we offer from semi-custom to full custom yachts ranging from 30 up to 50 metres in length.”
With the summer show season kicking off with the Cannes Yachting Festival 11th – 16th September, Dubbelman finishes: “The new team is future proof, and I’m looking forward to introducing them to clients, friends and colleagues in Cannes and Monaco this month.”
