Striking new luxury yacht Maritimo M59 at Palma boat show 2018
Maritimo, leading Australian builder of bespoke luxury motor yachts, is proud to present the full details of the new M59 model-after the European and US debuts. This exciting 18-meter yacht is available through Maritimo’s international sales office -Spencer Ship Monaco. Based in Monaco, the company does take care of Maritimo’s export department for Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia.
The M59 is the newest member of the brand’s popular series of flybridge yachts. Like the other boats from Maritimo, she is very rigid and tough thanks to the strong and seaworthy hull and smart naval architecture. These important factors combine with spacious, luminous interiors, the comfortable enclosed flybridge, protected from any whims of weather, and highest possible standard of manufacturing to form a winning combination.
“These boats are very easy to use and a very low maintenance”, said Craig Harvey, CEO at Spencership. “All the systems on board are easy operate, standard circuit breakers for the electric systems, fully moulded engine room liners for easy clean ups. The key Maritimo features are safety at sea, spacious areas, full beam master cabin. Maritimo’s boats are semi-custom, and therefore not mass produced. This gives much greater quality of finished product, they are designed for passage making in rough water. In addition, the company offers the owners to come and use their new boat in Australia before it is shipped to Europe. This gives the client the chance to explore Australian waters in their own boat and they can have factory additions to boat before it ships”.
The M59 is styled by David Stewart Design. She is a three-cabin, two-bathroom vessel witha wide beam andlarge back opening lazarette. Maritimo’s hallmark products are enclosed flybridges, because they provide a number of advantages. They are better for colder climates and therefore extend the boating season. For warmer climates, the air-conditioned flybridge makes a more comfortable experience. When doing long distances, guests are protected and therefore feel more refreshed when arriving to the marina at the end of the day. In addition, the extra height of the bridge gives much greater sight lines, partially when navigating in shallow water, around rocks and reefs.
The cockpit of the M59 is accessed from both sides with openings to the optional hydraulic swim platform. This space is substantial because of the boat’s large 5.5-meter beam.
Maritimo conducted a massive study of the current range to provide the M59 with the best possible layout considering modern owners’ requirements. Every Maritimo has an impeccable fit and finish thatis intelligently optimised for space. The standard boat has leather upholstery and mat or glossy teak timber veneer throughout, vinyl headlines and top quality carpets. The extra timbers available are wenge, oak, and walnut.
“Maritimo would build around seven M59 per annum”, comments Craig Harvey. “Recent customers came from USA, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore. The shipyard also offers a sedan or non flybridge version of this boat as well”.
The main deck of the M59 is a relaxing and comfortable space. The voluminous main saloon is divided in two parts. The galley aft is fully equipped with Miele appliances, including a dishwasher, large pantry and plenty of smart storage space, so the yacht is very much ready to travel a lot. The adjacent area is the dining room with two large sofas and a table. The interior layout is changeable, it is possible to add fitness gear or tweak some equipment in the galley or even fit in a piano for music lovers.
An internal staircase leads to the fully enclosed flybridge, extended aft balcony and sunroof. The upper deck has extensive windows and is full of light. There is another dining area with a fold able table, L-shaped sofa, wet-bar, ice maker, and TV. Aft part of the flybridge is a nice and romantic sundeck area with a full-beam couch and beach chairs to create a relaxed atmosphere while cruising.
Outside, the main deck aft of the M59 is equipped with an extra-large hydraulic swim platform and entertainment area with BBQ. A high gloss teak aft cockpit table converts to extended up/down sun and relax lounge. The cockpit can be combined with the saloon as a single large floating penthouse by closing the unique massive glass bi-fold doors, which is Maritimo’s signature.
There is also a conveniently located, spacious garage for a tender and water toys. Wide walk around side decks allow safe and easy access to vast sun lounge forward.
The guest area below is comprised of three roomy cabins for six guests. There is the full beam master stateroom that is significantly larger comparing to similar-sized competitors. It has a bathroom, a makeup vanity or study, a sofa and broad openable windows. Such combination is rarely found on under-60-feet vessels and mor common for 70-footers. The VIP-cabin is in the bow and a third cabin with side-by-side single beds can be converted to a double. The versatility and clever use of space is highlighted with the addition of an optional fold out bed on the flybridge bringing the total guest accommodation to eight.
The seagoing characteristics of the new M59 are as outstanding as her design. The standard version is fitted out with a pair of Volvo Penta D11–725 engines that guarantee an excellent performance while keeping the fuel consumption low. The maximum speed is around 28 knots in this configuration. The range at cruising speed is about 500 nautical miles but it can be extended to more than 2500 miles at economical 7 knots.
The new M59 from Maritimo is just the right fit for an adventurous owner that is ready to enjoy the Australian relaxed style of living in total luxurious comfort, which is so suitable for the Med area as well.
