Super yacht leader Burgess expands to Dubai

With the end of the last quarter of 2016 now in sight and another successive year of strong performance across all divisions of the company, Burgess announces its expansion into the Middle East with the imminent opening of an office in Dubai. In this latest expansion of its global operations, Burgess will work with local partner SJM Group’s maritime division, chaired by a member of Dubai’s Ruling Family, to introduce super yacht services of exceptional standard to the UAE and to develop the maritime sector within the GCC region.

This initiative is the organic evolution of Burgess’ long-standing commitment to serving super yacht clients in the Gulf. With an already impressive portfolio of Middle Eastern clients accrued over more than four decades, the company relishes the prospect of strengthening its relationships in the region by serving current and future clients with a local presence. “We are delighted to be opening for business in the Gulf, where we already enjoy the privilege of serving a great many clients. The plan is to build a core of super yacht expertise from an initial base in Dubai, providing services to clients from the UAE and wider region by combining the experience of a local team with the skills of Burgess staff from other offices, as required”, said Burgess CEO Jonathan Beckett.

Spearheading the new initiative is British citizen and Dubai resident Jonathan Hind, who joins the company following four years as General Manager of the Dubai Marina Yacht Club, the largest marina in the Middle East, where he was responsible for every aspect of its operation and development. “We are honoured to be collaborating with SJM Group towards our shared objective of evolving the maritime sector in the Gulf and are very enthusiastic about the potential this exciting region holds for the superyacht industry,” adds Jonathan. His considerable experience in Dubai’s marine industry makes Jonathan ideally suited to head up Burgess’ new Dubai operation and he will form a key part of the global team.

To coincide with this announcement, the spectacular 77 metre (252.6 ft) long range super yacht SILVER FAST represented by Burgess as Central Agents for sale and charter is currently located in the Gulf for client viewings. With her distinctive super-sleek exterior styling by EspenØino and metallic silver livery, the vessel is the world’s largest and fastest aluminium motor yacht with conventional propulsion. SILVER FAST is available for charter in the Gulf region and the Maldives from USD 650,000 per week and her asking price is EUR 79,500,000.
