The Wider 150 receives the Rina Platinum Green Plus Award by the Prince Alber II of Monaco
Among the multitude of visitors eager to view the WIDER 150, “Genesi”, during the just concluded Monaco Yacht Show one visit on board was of particular significance. On Thursday 29th September his Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco toured ‘Genesi’ accompanied by the founders of WIDER, Tilli Antonelli and Paolo Favilla.
Prince Albert II expressed great appreciation, and considerable insight, for the technology employed on board the ground-breaking super yacht. But his visit was not only to see first-hand a yacht that has been so widely publicized and talked about: the Prince, together with the CEO of RINA, Ugo Salerno, bestowed the vessel with the prestigious RINA PLATINUM GREEN PLUS AWARD.
Presented annually to the best yacht over 40m, the award recognizes that the WIDER 150 exceeds every other yacht in terms of her “green” credentials, taking in to consideration fuel consummation, as well as overall environmental impact from construction.
Having already won prizes for best yacht in class at the 2016 MYS Award Ceremony, World Superyacht Awards and World Yachts Trophies, the addition of this important and prestigious award further cements WIDER’s reputation as a shipyard that offers genuine innovation that is a benefit to yacht owners and their crew, enriching their enjoyment of the vessel and their time at sea whilst using modern technology to ensure it has a low environmental impact.
