Rondal’s new carbon fibre deck hatch
Rondal’s new carbon fibre deck hatch
An extensive programme of product development has resulted in the innovative new Rondal Carbon Fibre hatch MKII. The objectives of the project were to maintain the high quality standards that our customers appreciate so much, while driving down costs through smart engineering and a more streamlined production process, and to further enhance styling and durability.
The flush hatches are produced in a single mould using prepreg material of full carbon, carbon/glass or full glass laminate and will be available in all size ranges, with deck camber and with tops that can be covered with teak, glass or acrylic. For a modern and more stylish look, handles and catch blocks have been redesigned. The concealed hinge design has been upgraded but continues to offer the reassuring feel of Rondal strength and reliability.
Rondal is delighted to announce that this product innovation has immediately led to important orders from Rondal’s major customers, Baltic Yachts in Finland, for the prestigious 175′ project and for project 397, currently under construction at Royal Huisman.
Sales manager Bas Peute reports: “I am convinced that these product innovations will make Rondal increasingly competitive in the composite hatch market. I can even foresee that, given the modest premium and all the benefits of no corrosion, lower maintenance, lighter weight and enhanced durability, Rondal composite hatches will become strong competition for aluminium hatches and maybe a substitute in the future.”
