FIRST HULL OF THE FERRETTI YACHTS
The launch of the first hull of the Ferretti Yachts 650, the new yacht of Ferretti Group’s historical brand, which marks the beginning of the renovation of the Yachts line below 70 feet in length was held in the marina of the well-known town on the Adriatic coast, in the province of Forlì-Cesena.
The technical launch of a yacht is always a very important achievement for all Group employees, who over the last few months have been involved in the building of this model at Forlì production plant, where the next two hulls of the new 65-footer are also currently under construction.
The new boat will officially make its debut in front of the international public during the next edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival, which will be held from September 9th to 14th 2014. It will then be presented as an Italian premiere at Genoa International Boat Show. The Ferretti Yachts 650 is yet another magnificent result of the cooperation between Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee, the Group’s Marketing Department, AYT&D – Advanced Yachts Technology & Design (Ferretti Group’s research, style and product development centre), and Studio Zuccon International Project.
Over the next few weeks, all required technical operations – from RINA (the Italian Register of Shipping) inspections and testing to sea trials, all the way to the verification of onboard systems and equipment and the completion of the interior outfitting – will be carried out to complete Ferretti Yachts 650’s preparation for its official debut at the various boat shows.
“The launch of this model makes us extremely proud” commented Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Group’s Chief Commercial Officer. “This new yacht by Ferretti Yachts combines impressively user-friendly on-board instrumentation with the brand’s traditional and unmistakable on-board comfort and liveability, and features solutions capable of turning into reality the dreams of owners from all over the world, from the East to the West”.
The great interest raised by this type of craft at an international level is confirmed by the great success this project has already met with, just a few months after its first presentation: indeed, the first hull of the Ferretti Yachts 650 was sold to a Chinese owner even before it was launched, a fact that bears witness to the increasing interest the brand is attracting on the leading market of the Asia-Pacific region. The second hull, in turn, will go to an Owner from Lebanon, a country in the Middle East that has always been strategic for the Italian brand. The third 65-footer (the first in the flybridge version with hard top) will reach the United States in 2015, serving as an extraordinary ‘business card’ for the latest born in the Ferretti family – a brand that is increasingly becoming the symbol of Made-in-Italy yachts in the world.
FERRETTI YACHTS 650
This contemporary-style yacht skilfully combines the timeless, sober charm of Ferretti Yachts and their impressive performances in terms of speed and range. The Ferretti Yacht 650 – 19.67 metres in length and having a beam of 5.25 metres – immediately strikes the eye for its extensively restyled lines, which make it truly unique. Its exteriors are characterised by an aerodynamic flybridge and new fibreglass decorations that “cut through” the profile of the glazing in the superstructure, while the design of the glazing that connects the windows of the three cabins (the master cabin, the guest cabin and the VIP cabin) is truly unprecedented: the glazed surface has indeed been extended to allow even more natural light to shine through and flood the areas below deck.
One of the main innovations on this new model are, in particular, its outfitting and interior décor. The Group’s team of architects and designers has worked with an eye to extensively renovating the yacht by choosing new materials, new colour shades and, consequently, new colour and material combinations.
As is the case on all models in the range, on this 65-footer too Ferretti is proposing alternative layouts both on the sundeck – which comes both in the open and hard-top versions – and indoor. A “TaiHe Ban by Ferretti” edition of the 650 has been designed, targeted, in particular, at the Owners from the Far East. On this model, interior décor has been harmonised to the culture and taste of the markets the yacht has been specifically designed for, and dedicated areas devoted to business meetings and social life have been conceived.
The Ferretti Yachts 650 is equipped with two CAT C18, highly reliable engines that ensure very consistent performances. In the standard engine configuration – a pair of 1015 mhp C18 engines – the boat can reach a cruising speed of 27 knots and a maximum speed of 30.5 knots. The optional engines (1150 mhp), in turn, can push the yacht to a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 33 knots. The range is 275 and 245 nautical miles, respectively, at maximum speed, and 290 and 270 nautical miles, respectively, at cruising speed (preliminary data).
